In Dune: Awakening, your own hideout is an essential part of survival. However, sandstorms regularly cause fine dust to settle everywhere. If you don’t like the desert look, you can easily clean your base with a tool.
How can I quickly remove sand? With the Static Compactor, you can remove sand from your hideout with a click. Just aim at the ground, roof, or a wall of your base and fire once. The sand will vanish across the entire area.
Actually, the tool has a completely different function. The Static Compactor is primarily used to compress dust and spicesand into transportable clumps that you can then collect. From the dustsand, you can make silicone blocks, while you collect spice for crafting, maintaining devices, and the economy.

Where can I get the Static Compactor? You will receive the blueprint for the Static Compactor after the second trial of Aql, which you can find in the Eastern Vermillius Rift. In the trial, you will also learn how the device works.
Once you have the blueprint, you can craft the Static Compactor either at the General Fabricator or the Survival Fabricator. You will need 10 iron bars and 7 EMF generators.

“Another new task again”
In a post on Reddit, user Hmuda points out the “vacuum cleaner function” of the Static Compactor. Out of curiosity, he shot the compactor at his house – and suddenly an entire area was clean.
How is the “vacuum cleaner” received? The information is well received by the community. Some jokingly write that yet another task has been added to the already grind-heavy game. Others ironically ask who is now going to be the cleaning service of their guild.
The creator of the post mentions the repair function of the construction tool, which can also remove dust from walls, roofs, and floors. Additionally, MysteriousConflict38 comments: “It should be mentioned: the repair tool consumes neither energy nor durability. The Static Compactor works too, but it consumes energy and wears out.”
However, some users point out that you only need a few “shots” with the compactor anyway. The construction tool only cleans one element – so one wall piece, one floor piece, or one roof piece.
Some players might like the weathered look that the sandstorms create. Nonetheless, the possibility of removing the sand is practical. And if you’re just starting in Dune: Awakening, you shouldn’t invest too much work and time in your first base, as you won’t be living there for long anyway.
