In the Blackout battle royale mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, you can unlock cool new skins with enough effort. We explain how to get the Specialists and more skins here.
What are skins in Blackout? In the Blackout battle royale mode, you initially have only a few generic skins without any special features. This can’t go on, and many players want something special.
Luckily, there are also special skins. When you equip them, you look like the Specialists from Multiplayer or like characters from the Zombie mode. Additionally, there are some fan favorites from previous installments of the Black Ops series.
What can skins do? Nothing, they just look different, and you can show off a rare appearance to your friends and teammates. Skins do not provide any concrete gameplay advantages.
Basics of Skins in Blackout
How do you get the Specialists? Specialists are always tied to specific requirements. You can only unlock the respective skin and use it if you meet these requirements in a match.
Simple skins for grinders: Some skins only require you to reach a specific echelon level. Then the skin becomes available.
Tricky skins for experts: Special skins, however, are tied to tangible tasks. Usually, you need to find a specific item and do something with it during the ongoing Blackout round. This can sometimes be really difficult and tricky. And if you mess up the special action, you won’t get the skin, and your efforts in that round were in vain.
What you need to do for which skins is explained in the following overview.
All Skins You Get from Echelon Levels
As mentioned above, some skins are tied to your echelon levels. When you reach a specific tier, you automatically get the skin.
So, if you grind long enough, you’ll already have a respectable selection of soldier outfits.
The echelon skins and their respective tiers are:
- Ranger: From Echelon 20
- Frogman: From Echelon 40
- Airborne: From Echelon 60
- Seal: From Echelon 80
- Battle Hardened: From Prestige after Echelon 80
How to level up in Echelon tiers in Blackout, you can find out here.
