With the release of Title Update 5, a new Apparel Event has started in The Division 2 – Heatwave. It runs for nearly 4 weeks and brings numerous new cosmetics into the game that you can obtain. We show how the event works and what rewards await you.
What kind of event is this? An Apparel or clothing event is, as the name suggests, primarily focused on new clothing for your agents. You can earn or purchase all sorts of new cosmetics like outfits, clothing pieces, masks, emotes, or weapon skins within a limited timeframe.
Heatwave is the third event of this kind in The Division 2 and was introduced with the Title Update 5 – this time focusing on airy summer fashion for hot days in D.C..
Heatwave Apparel Event in The Division 2 – What You Need to Know
How to get the rewards: The event rewards come through The Division 2’s clothing shop. Event containers are now available there, which you can open with special keys. You earn these keys through:
- weekly clothing projects (4 keys per project)
- gaining new field expertise after reaching level 30, meaning further level-ups, where these keys can drop
- achieving further expertise in the Dark Zone, meaning ranking up further
Additionally, keys can be purchased directly with premium credits, the real-money currency. All players logging in during the event will receive a key for free. Owners of the Year 1 Pass will receive three additional free keys.
When does the Heatwave event run? Here are the key dates for the 3rd clothing event of The Division 2:
- Main event from July 23 to August 15: Event keys can be earned from the mentioned sources.
- Event conclusion from August 15 to August 22: You should redeem all your event keys now if you want to get the special reward for earning all event prizes. This is only possible until August 22. If you are missing some rewards, you can buy event keys with premium credits.
- After the event from August 22: All items from the event boxes will now be included in regular clothing boxes, which you can earn through gameplay or purchase from the store. The only exception is the diver uniform, which will be available as a reward for earning all event prizes until August 22. This will no longer be available afterward.
These are the rewards of the Heatwave
The rewards you can earn now: There are a total of 40 new cosmetics to be obtained in the scope of the Heatwave event. These include
- 5 complete outfits
- 1 mask (diver)
- 5 emotes
- 7 weapon skins
- Diver uniform
If you complete all 5 outfits, you will receive another mask (dust mask). If you manage to collect all items from the event, you will receive the diver uniform. This is only available during the event.

These skins for special weapons you can now purchase: As part of the event, four additional cosmetic items have come to the clothing shop. These are skins for the individual weapons of the four specializations in The Division 2. However, these can only be purchased with premium credits – 700 credits per skin.
Keep in mind that you can only buy these skins if you have already unlocked the corresponding specialization.
