Microsoft has excited PC gamers as the Halo: Master Chief Collection is also coming to PC. The announcement surprised with several things.
What does the Halo: Master Chief Collection include? The collection offers PC gamers the chance to experience almost the entire Halo series. This includes Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4. It even includes the prequel Halo: Reach, which has never been released for PC. Halo 5: Guardians is not included.

Surprise!
What is surprising? Initially, it surprises Microsoft to actually release this collection for PC. But there are other things that fans probably did not expect:
- Halo: Reach is included.
- The games will be released in an updated form and will get support for ultra-wide resolutions, HDR, and a FoV slider.
- So they are not just simple ports.
- The games will not be released all at once, but gradually. The first will be Halo: Reach, followed by Halo 1, 2, 3, and 4.
- Microsoft is releasing the collection not only through the Windows Store but also through Steam.
- According to the Steam page, no Windows 10 is required.
Halo on Steam?
How do players react? The community is very pleased that the collection is also coming to Steam, as Microsoft’s own store does not have the best reputation and this way more players can be reached.
Tywunwun_Lannister expresses his joy on Reddit like this: “I love you and everyone who made this possible!”
MasterChefJake118 agrees: “Today is a great day to be a Halo fan.”
Why is Microsoft suddenly turning to Steam? The announcement that the Halo: Master Chief Collection is also coming to Steam is surprising. It was assumed that the title would be released exclusively through the Windows Store.
Fans believe that the release on Steam has tactical reasons. This way Microsoft builds a large fan base for the new shooter Halo: Infinite. More players will then be interested in wanting to play the new part of the series.
Vikarr on reddit says: “The sales and player numbers over Steam will certainly form the basis for Halo: Infinite.”
When is the Halo: Master Chief Collection coming to PC? No release date has been announced yet. However, it will be possible to purchase the games either in a package or individually.
