Smite – Divine Fun
Also from Hi-Rez Studio: Smite (PC, Mac, PS4, Xbox One). In this action MOBA, you take on the role of a god or a mythical figure, competing against two teams.
Smite is among the titles with a successful esports scene. At the World Championship, a prize pool of 1 million dollars was offered.
The biggest game mode in Smite is “Conquest”. Here, you must defeat the opposing phoenixes and titans to win. The phoenixes guard the three lanes on the map that lead to the respective bases. The titan is a gigantic warrior residing in the base. With gold, the player can purchase items during the match to further enhance the god and his abilities.
All this sounds like classic MOBA components, but with one significant difference. Smite is played in “third person”, which is unusual for the typical battle arena game. Normally, these are played from a bird’s-eye view like in League of Legends or Dota. This creates a completely different game dynamic and changes, for instance, the handling of skill shots.
Smite is considered an adrenaline-pumping action MOBA that has practically founded the genre.
