Diablo 4 offers a long story and a vast world with many possibilities for how you can level up your hero to the maximum level. Developer Joseph Piepiora clarified how long an average player will take.
How long does it take to reach level 100? Blizzard conducted an interview with the gaming site “PCGamer”. It discussed how Diablo 4 borrows elements from MMOs while still maintaining its identity (via pcgamer.com). After the interview, players were unsure how long it would actually take to reach the maximum level, as this was also discussed.
Associate Game Director Joseph Piepiora responded to the uncertainty in a Twitter post, stating that an average player will take 150+ hours to reach the max level.
By average players, it refers to fans who take their time, enjoy the story, complete every dungeon, and do not immediately rush into farming mobs. While 150+ hours is normal, pros might reach the cap faster.
Grind might be shorter for pros
Why might pros level up to 100 faster? Fans who have been playing seasons in Diablo 3 for years will reach the max level more quickly. They often skip or sprint through the story to spend hours beating up enemies at a farm spot.
The focus of such pros is also to have an endgame hero for the respective season as quickly as possible. It’s quite possible that players will develop farming spots or strategies after the first release weeks when the first season becomes active, on how to collect the most XP as quickly as possible.
Will you also fall into the dry grind after the story, or will you take your time to explore every corner of the new Sanctuary? Let us know in the comments!
