In Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, there are various quests and side missions that you can complete. One of these side quests is called The Keening Spirit. Many players wander through Nahantu to finish it, but unfortunately, this is not currently possible.
What kind of quest is this? You receive the quest for The Keening Spirit at the Bazaar of Kurast in the southern part of the area. There, you see a woman writhing on the ground. The quest giver is the NPC Nunir.
You ask him what has happened to the woman, and he reports that she has been murmuring something about a summoning ritual. Nunir believes that the summoning has failed. He cannot do anything about the woman’s spiritual pain.
Your task now is to find out more about it. You need to reach a marked area in Nahantu and find the “tormented spirit Bashe” there. A simple quest, yet this is currently driving many demon slayers mad.
Quest is bugged – Leaves players desperately exploring areas
What is the problem with the quest? The quest is apparently bugged. There are players who have scoured the small, blue-marked area for several minutes to hours to find the spirit, but it does not appear. Nothing happened for us in the area either.
Fans had hoped that the recent hotfix would resolve the quest issue, but players on Reddit report negative reassurances – the quest is still bugged.
So ignore the quest for now and focus on other things until Blizzard addresses this problem. Currently, we have no information on whether the developers have acknowledged this bug.
How do I abandon quests? If you want to remove the quest from your quest log for now, click on it with the right mouse button on PC and abandon it. Don’t worry, you can take abandoned quests again later.
Will it take long for the quest to be fixed? We cannot say that yet. The last hotfix mainly focused on preventing crashes occurring on PC and Steam. For now, Blizzard likely prioritizes fixing technical problems before addressing issues like side quests. However, since Blizzard pursues a quick update strategy concerning such issues, you can expect a timely fix.
