In the Server Slam of Diablo 4, players were able to defeat the world boss Ashava once again. The boss is actually designed for 12 players, but just like during the first beta, the hefty MMO boss fell to a solo player once again. Even Blizzard congratulates.
Last weekend, players were once again able to test their favorite classes in Diablo 4. The Server Slam was a final chance to test the game before the release on June 6, 2023.
As in the first open beta, the world boss Ashava was also present. However, this time players could only level up to level 20, instead of level 25. This resulted in fewer (strong) skills being available to defeat the boss.
The YouTuber wudijo already defeated Ashava with his hunter in hardcore mode during the first beta phase. But even with the strict conditions of the Server Slam, he dared to face the world boss alone – and triumphed.
You can see what wudijo’s hunter class is capable of in the trailer:
How did he do it? Since the drop rate of legendary items was reduced to normal levels during the server slams, wudijo had to farm longer in advance to obtain the rare gear.
Additionally, he upgraded his equipment with the blacksmith to level 3 and used gems that provide additional bonuses. He primarily focused on more maximum health and increased critical damage. He also received increased attack speed from a potion.
In the end, the YouTuber even had a minute left. You can follow his epic battle in the English video:
What reaction did Blizzard show? His performance even impresses the heads behind Diablo 4. Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment, has learned of wudijo’s latest achievement. He jokes that Ashava needs to be buffed further to make it even harder for the YouTuber (via twitter.com).
Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher is also impressed by the performance and congratulates wudijo on his success:
What do players say about this? Many players are impressed that he defeated the world boss even on hardcore difficulty. On Reddit, a thread with over 300 comments has developed about it (via reddit.com). One user notes that this is “no wonder given the damage.”
In my own test run, the hunter, for example, dealt an average damage of under 100, which is significantly higher in the video.
Many players have also wondered how the YouTuber was able to solo Ashava. The answer is simple: hardly anyone is crazy enough to face Ashava at the highest difficulty level, especially in hardcore mode.
This meant that wudijo was out there without allies; the servers were emptier than in normal modes.
This led to Ashava being weaker. As the YouTuber explained in another video (via YouTube), the world boss scales with the number of players. A single player faces a weaker opponent than a group of 12 people.
What build did wudijo use? Since he could only level up to level 20 during the server slams, he didn’t take the same abilities as in his last attempt. Therefore, he adjusted his build slightly and used the following skills:
- Veil
- Poison Trap
- Sprint
- Poison Infusion
- Heart Seeker
- Rapid Fire
Did you manage to defeat Ashava? How many attempts did it take you?
