The highly anticipated Season 4 is coming to the PTR of Diablo 4. Just before the launch, Blizzard released the patch notes. MeinMMO provides you with the most important information and explains how you can test the patch.
This is what Blizzard is testing:
- From April 2nd to April 9th, the public test realm (“PTR”) of Diablo 4 will be live for the first time. You can check out the changes for Season 4 and provide feedback.
- The biggest change in Season 4 is the new item system of Diablo 4, which looks promising according to fans and experts. Especially anticipated: item crafting.
- Additionally, there are several revamped systems and improved features such as larger challenges and better rewards in Helltides.
The highlights of the patch notes: During the testing phase, you can test the new features of the Helltide. The more monsters you slay, the higher your “threat” rises. Once your threat level is maxed out, a group of assassins will appear that targets you. With a currency found in Tortured Gifts, you can also start a new event for a boss fight and strong rewards.
The new itemization is, however, the most important feature that will come to the PTR with Season 4. Blizzard is overhauling just about everything that has been in place so far. Here’s a brief summary:
- Enemies of level 95 and above now always drop items with item power 925.
- There are significantly fewer, but better affixes.
- Legendary affixes now all go into the Codex instead of cluttering the inventory.
- Legendary affixes can drop in a “greater” version that is 1.5 times stronger.
- You can further improve items via a crafting system.
- Improving items costs significantly less.
- Unique items and Uber Uniques drop already at earlier levels.
Furthermore, all classes will be adapted with plenty of buffs, a few nerfs, and new items for each class. You can find the full patch notes on page 2, but as a warning: There’s really a lot this time.
