The Secret of the Spring is a short quest that you will find near the first major city of Diablo 4, Kyovashad. You can find out how to complete the quest here on MeinMMO.
Where can I find the quest? You will find the quest “The Secret of the Spring” north of Kyovashad in the area “Frigid Expanse.” Near the dungeon “Abandoned Quarry,” there is a discarded note on the ground. Once you click on it, the quest will start.
How do I solve the Secret of the Spring quest? The quest leads you to a small pond. Use the “Wait” emote here to complete the task – similar to the early quest “Lift the Mood” within Kyovashad. Once you have used the emote, a buried chest will appear. If you open it, the quest is completed.
However, the “Wait” emote is not included in the preselected options of your emote menu.
How to use and switch emotes? Here are the keys for mouse and keyboard as well as controller:
- Keyboard: Open the emote menu with “E”
- Use the mouse wheel to switch to the emote tab
- Controller: Open the emote menu with “D-pad up”
- Use L1/R1 or LB/RB to switch to the emote tab
Once you are in the emote menu, press “Triangle” or “Y” on the controller or select “Customize” with the mouse. In this menu, you can exchange your emotes:
You then need to save the changes, and you can use the emote at the small pond of “Secret of the Spring.”
What do emotes do? In Diablo 4, actions are not only meant for communication among players. You can interact with certain shrines or return to the start of a dungeon using the emote wheel.
Some shrines provide you with various and sometimes crazy bonuses. Interact with the shrines for a hint about the emote you are looking for. The shrines do not enhance your gameplay but rather provide gold bonuses and similar perks:
Quests and shrines often obscure which specific emote you need for the solution. However, the puzzles are usually not very difficult.
