The developers of Diablo 4 have provided insight into Season 10, which starts in September. While there will be no new Mythic Uniques, the new items can actually be even better. We summarize the highlights from the patch notes for Patch 2.4.0 for you.
During the recent “Campfire Chat” livestream on September 16, 2025, Blizzard offered a glimpse into the new season. Season 10 starts on September 23, 2025 and brings new content to Diablo 4:
- “Hellish Chaos” is the theme of the season, and it revolves around chaos. There will be chaos powers that enhance and affect your builds.
- The hell hordes are getting an update, where plenty of goblins can spawn. Additionally, there will be a “smaller version” of the hell hordes that you can use even at early levels.
- Bosses no longer have immunity phases; instead, they will build a shield at certain points during the fight.
On top of that, there will be several new Uniques for the six classes – but not (only) in the usual way. And these new Uniques can actually be stronger than the coveted Mythic Uniques.
The new Chaos Uniques will be added to Season 10 with Patch 2.4.0. You can find the very detailed German patch notes on page 2 of the article.
“Target Farming” of Chaos Uniques is possible, but not the main idea
This is what the new Uniques are about: The new Chaos Armor is a stronger version of already existing Uniques. They drop for different item slots, creating new possibilities for builds and playstyles. However, you can only equip one version of a Unique and thus cannot combine the normal version with the Chaos version.
Game designer Aislyn Hall revealed that the team initially did play with the idea of allowing double versions at the same time. But that was simply “way too broken.”
In the livestream, game designer Charles Dunn explained that currently no changes have been made to the Mythic Uniques. In future seasons, they plan to adjust them, but the focus is now on the Chaos Uniques. His statement: “In some cases, Chaos Armor items are even better than Mythics – depending on the slot and build.”

Where do I get the Chaos Uniques? You get the Chaos Uniques among other places in the Hell Hordes when you defeat the boss Bartuc. At Torment levels 3 and 4, Chaos Uniques drop guaranteed, while on Torment 1 and 2, there is a small chance. However, you cannot trade or swap the items with other players. As the graphics show, they are account-bound.
But with a vendor, according to Aislyn Hall, you have the chance to obtain Chaos Uniques. The game designer says: “You can go to the ‘Gambler’ and if you specifically look for a chest armor or whatever and just roll through, eventually a Chaos Armor will drop – and that will be in the chest slot. This way you can farm deliberately.”
However, the basic idea remains that drops should feel random and organic. Blizzard wants players to be surprised and feel that the world is alive.
Even at the announcement, the Chaos Uniques generated excitement. Many players are looking forward to the new build options and the fresh dynamics that the items could bring to the game. Some even hope that the seasonal items will remain permanently in Diablo 4 because they could shake up the meta significantly.
