The mid-season update of Diablo 4 is live and brings numerous changes to the five classes in the game. MeinMMO summarizes the highlights from the patch notes for patch 1.4.3.
The highlights from the patch:
- The difficulty of the new endgame activity “The Pit” will be adjusted. The developers want to ensure that more players can use the crafting system “Masterworking” and obtain the necessary materials for it.
- Existing bugs will be fixed, such as the “Holy Bolt” elixir, which accidentally scales damage too high when you have minions present. A bug with the new loot pets in Diablo 4 will also be fixed.
- The mid-season update changes all five classes and buffs numerous skills and items. Apparently, there are no nerfs.
When does patch 1.4.3 go live? Patch 1.4.3 was scheduled for June 17, on a Monday. It went live at around 7:00 PM. As the developers recently announced in a forum post for Diablo 4, the patch represents the mid-season update. During this, they also announced that season 5 will also receive a PTR.

Many buffs for all classes, no nerfs
What does the patch change for the classes? Patch 1.4.3 brings numerous changes and balance adjustments for all classes in the mid-season. The aim of the changes is to buff classes and builds that do not perform as well as others.
Currently, the shadow minion build of the necromancer is quite strong. However, the upcoming update will specifically buff the aspects in the book of the dead that you get when you sacrifice your minions and play without them.
The hunter receives a few buffs for different skills, such as “Blade Storm” and “Screw Blades”. Currently, the builds using these skills are in the lower tiers of the tier list for endgame in season 4. Additionally, a bug is resolved where the “Rapid Fire” skill with the unique “Thief’s Kiss” does not hit nearby targets correctly.
The druid’s spirit blessings will be buffed, but many of his other skills too. The barbarians will also receive buffs, such as a 15% increase in the damage of the “Whirlwind” skill. The damage of the “Dust Devil” aspect will be increased by 100%.
The sorcerers will receive not only buffs for the damage they deal, but also better damage reduction and barriers – such as through the skill “Ice Armor”.
Are there nerfs as well? Apparently not. The Diablo expert wudijo notes in his livestream on Twitch on June 14: “There are actually a lot of buffs in this patch, so generally, a lot will get better, there are no nerfs and no bug fixes that would negatively impact builds.”
Adjustments to the Pit so that everyone can get their mats
What else is being adjusted? Patch 1.4.3 also makes slight adjustments to the difficulty level of the Pit. Players should be able to fully participate in the crafting system. Due to the changes, according to Blizzard, most builds should be able to master the levels in the Pit that unlock the materials for the highest-rank masterworking – thus at least Pit level 61.
In addition, bug fixes will be made: the “Holy Bolt” elixir then causes a percentage of weapon damage instead of a percentage of the opponent’s health. As a result, the damage scaled unintentionally high when triggered by the necromancer’s minions.
With the last patch, new companions surprisingly joined Diablo 4, which not only look cute but also pick up mats and gold for you. The animal companions are a feature that fans have wished for since the release. However, there was the bug that pets break some builds – and strengthen others. This bug will also be fixed with patch 1.4.3.
