Just a few days after the release of Vessel of Hatred, players and experts in Diablo 4 discover strange builds that effortlessly rush through the endgame. A particularly absurd build for the new Spiritborn class doesn’t even need skills; you just need to be able to evade.
What kind of build is this? With the Evade build for the Spiritborn, you evade constantly and throw feathers around you that completely shred the enemies – similar to the Spike Salvo build, currently the strongest build for Spiritborns.
Unlike the Spike Salvo build, however, you have to pay attention to fewer things. You simply race across the map and dismantle everything in sight. Currently, it seems that Spike Salvo is still slightly better at the highest levels, but not significantly.
This is what makes the build so strong: The build works by constantly resetting your evasion ability so you can use it permanently. This works by selecting the Eagle Spirit in your Spirit Hall.
This makes your opponents vulnerable and thus inherently increases your damage. Then you only need one item and one skill:
- Accelerated Thunder Spike, which you find directly at the top in the base skills
- Sepazontec, a unique quarterstaff of the Spiritborn
- for smooth gameplay, you should also have another Evade charge on your shoes
The combination ensures that every time you evade, you cast Thunder Spike with its third attack, which leads to a 5-second reduction in the cooldown of evasion. Since the cooldown is only 5 seconds, you can do this permanently.

You can easily buy the most important item; you just need some luck
Sepazontec actually drops from Duriel or Andariel, the absolute endgame bosses. However, you don’t even have to fight the two to get the quarterstaff: The Curiosities Merchant is currently the best source for Uniques, you won’t find legendary items more easily anywhere else.
Alternatively, you can use the Aspect of Euphoria. However, this is associated with a luck hit chance and thus not as reliable. All other items only ensure that you deal even more damage:
- The Aspect of Unyielding Hits increases your weapon damage by up to 30% of your armor when you use a gorilla ability.
- Accordingly, you stack a lot of armor and take Gorilla Skin as a skill. This additionally provides enormous defense.
- Aspects that interact with block add further multipliers, such as Redirected Power and the Vain Aspect.
- The unique Rakanoth’s Watch also allows you to explode for damage when you use a skill with a cooldown.

On Reddit, users are already fearing a nerf for the build. However, it’s rather unlikely that it will come as long as no interactions affect server or performance. A nerf could certainly come with the next Season 7.
