On June 17, the Mid-Season Patch went live in Diablo 4 and brought many buffs for the five classes. However, some players believe that especially two classes deserved much more love.
The Sorceresses have a tough time in Diablo 4. In June 2023, the community saw the Sorceress as clear losers after a patch. In Season 3, the Sorceress class was then really strong and dominated the leaderboards. And in Season 4, players noted: One effect of the class is broken and does not work properly.
The Mid-Season Patch now brought some buffs for the classes in Diablo 4. However, some players feel that especially Sorceresses and Druids deserved many more buffs. On Reddit, players are discussing the topic, and one finds it so unfair that he apparently wrote a song about it.
Which classes need buffs? On Reddit, the user “KennedyPh” wrote on June 16 that players need a patch for the Monday patch. They should make Sorceresses and Druids “great again.” The “micro-buffs” simply aren’t enough.
In the comments, users discuss the topic. “veradar” states: “Yes. More single-target damage for both [classes].” And “Boonatix” wonders why Blizzard listens to one piece of feedback but not another. The new item system was successful, but the class balancing is not.
“n8k-Primal” is confident that more buffs will come in Season 5. He writes: “There must be some important balance changes [in Season 5], why else would they offer a PTR?”
In a blog post, the developers recently announced that Season 5 will also receive a PTR (Public Test Realm).
The balance is not fair
A player wrote a song about it: In another thread on Reddit, the user “Liggles” expresses his dissatisfaction with the Mid-Season Patch in a song. This is apparently inspired by the theme song of the American sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” starring Will Smith and also begins with the line “Now, this is a story all about how…”
However, it’s not about how his life got flipped-turned upside down, as in the original song, but the class balance in Diablo 4. In his version, he tells how “the classes were changed in such an unfair patch.”

Here, too, users are discussing patch 1.4.3 in the comments. The top comment comes from “Tormentor”. He writes: “I had hoped the Sorceress would receive a bit more love.”
“Brief-Dragonfruit390” is optimistic and writes: “The buff for the Pulverize Druid is actually very decent.” The post creator points out that they are still “behind Hunters and Barbarians.” But “Brief-Dragonfruit390” thinks they are heading in the right direction.
They expected more from the patch
What do experts say about the patch? Diablo expert and content creator Rhykker expresses in a YouTube video that they expected a bit of love for Sorceresses and Druids. Druids are essentially “absent in the endgame” at the moment. Although the “Pulverize build” received buffs, it is not enough to “push” in the endgame.
Each class got “a little love, but it feels like Barbarians got the most, even though they don’t actually need it.” Druids need damage buffs, which they are “struggling with in the endgame.” The changes are not bad, but he expected more. He sees Barbarians as the big winners.
In a YouTube video, Diablo expert wudijo notes that the big winners of the Mid-Season Patch are the “Blade Fury Hunter” and “Pulverize Druid” builds – these builds have received “by far the most of everything” and have moved up a few places in the tier list.
He claims that other classes are moving a little due to the patch, but not so much that it changes the “overall landscape of the meta builds.” Barbarians remain the strongest, followed by Hunters. Then come Necromancers, Druids, and Sorceresses. However, it is possible that new strong builds will emerge from the changes.
