The different editions of Diablo 4 cause confusion among players even long after its release. There are frequent reports and complaints that not all editions contain the game – make sure you buy the right edition.
Diablo 4 is set to be released in early June 2023 and offers you 3 purchasable variants:
- Standard Edition
- Digital Deluxe Edition
- Ultimate Edition
These editions include all of Diablo 4, some with extra content for the game. Then there is the “Collector’s Box”, which is sold in Germany under the name “Limited Collector’s Box for Diablo IV” – and this box does not contain the game Diablo 4.
We have already had articles about this on MeinMMO. However, since there are frequent reports that players are unclear that this box does not contain a game, here is our renewed call: Do not buy the wrong version of Diablo 4. Make sure that it contains a game.

What does the Collector’s Box offer? This is a collection of Diablo items aimed squarely at big fans of the franchise. Here is what is included:
- Creation Candle – a double-sided electric candle featuring the images of Lilith and Inarius
- Occult Mousepad
- Fabric Map of Sanctuary
- Horadrim Lapel Pin
- Diablo IV Collector’s Edition Art Book – an art book with over 300 pages
- Passepartout Art Prints (x2) – 47.09 cm x 27.40 cm
The current delivery date is indicated as June 30, with the note that the box may arrive earlier.
What do the game editions offer? With the Standard Edition, you receive Diablo 4 and items for other Diablo games and a mount for WoW.
If you want to play Diablo 4 a few days earlier, the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Ultimate Edition are the way to go. The two versions offer up to 4 days of early access. Additionally, you receive the Diablo 4 Battle Pass and other bonuses.
