Since Season 4, there are the Hell Hordes in Diablo 4, a mode where you face waves of enemies. The type of enemies is more or less random. One player had tremendous luck and faced the rarest enemy multiple times.
What is that from Diablo 3?
- For huge explosions of loot and gold, there are the “Goblin Rifts” in Diablo 3 – these are portals to the realm of the treasure goblins themselves. Here, piles of gold and gemstones, treasure goblins with loot, and at the end, the Goblin Queen “Greed” awaits you.
- To enter the realm, you need enormous luck: A goblin can open a portal upon its death, or you need to find a weaving ring to put into Kanai’s Cube.
- In Diablo 4, there have been “Goblin Basements” since release, where a handful of goblins are waiting to hand you their loot. Now, a player has found an even bigger “Goblin Rift”.
This is now in Diablo 4: With Season 4, the Hell Hordes came into play as a new mechanic. When you enter the activity, you basically start a roguelite mode: You defeat waves of enemies and choose a buff after each wave. At the end, a boss fight awaits.
On Reddit, a player is now showing that at least 5 goblins spawned in his horde – probably more, as loot is already visible in the screenshot. Loot is usually not present in the hordes.
Normally, you only collect ether and exchange it at the end for gear, gold, or materials. However, items are already visible on the ground here.
The user writes: He has already received over 350 ether from the goblins after the third wave. With that amount, he can grab considerable additional loot from chests at the end.
“Thought they had patched that”
In the comments, players express surprise at this goblin party. This had happened before, but it was faulty. The goblins could not be killed back then, which ruined the entire run.
Therefore, many assumed that Blizzard had simply removed the possibility with the fix. Apparently, however, the Goblin Rifts still exist; they just seem to have a “Season-1-Uber-Drop-from-a-Hellwave-Rarity.”
Others wonder if there might be specific requirements for this special event. A user with a sharp eye has noticed that the “Greed” shrine is active in the screenshot. Players speculate that this could be a requirement.
This can’t be entirely ruled out, as this shrine is supposedly already necessary to find a very special item for which you need to complete a series of tasks and even require a group: Players find for the first time a secret item, the rarest and worst in the game so far
