With the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, Diablo 4 has received a new endgame activity. If you complete the activity in this season, you will earn an achievement – however, you cannot do it alone.
Vessel of Hatred is the first expansion for Diablo 4 and brought new content to the game. This includes the new class, the Spiritborn, a new area, mercenaries, and the endgame dungeon “The Dark Citadel.”
Along with the new content, numerous new achievements have been added that you can unlock. This includes completing the new campaign, reaching a torment level, and leveling up your mercenaries. Another achievement revolves around the new dungeon.
What kind of activity is this? The new endgame activity is the dungeon, “The Dark Citadel.” The citadel is a co-op challenge for four players, available to you from torment level 1. Most players actually play Diablo 4 solo.
In the challenge, there are three wings, each containing different tasks and a boss. If you complete the run in the citadel, you will receive citadel coins, with which you can purchase cosmetic items.
Additionally, you get player titles when you complete the co-op dungeon. However, one of these titles is only available in this season.
What kind of achievement is this? In the category “Heroic Deeds,” there’s the special achievement “Rise of the First Khazra: Champion 1.” To complete the achievement and receive the player title “Bloodbound; Pathfinder,” you need to run through all three wings in the citadel.
This means you have to venture into the co-op dungeon three times and face the puzzles and bosses. But not only that, you have to complete the challenge at the last torment level – by the end of Season 6.
For this, you will also need a group, as the activity is designed for four players. While you can enter it alone, you will get stuck at certain points because at least two people need to interact with items.
You can also venture into the citadel as a duo, but the difficulty level does not scale accordingly. Therefore, it’s significantly harder as a duo than as a group of four. If you’re looking for a suitable group, the new group finder introduced with Season 6 can help you.
What other achievements are there? In addition, you can earn numerous other achievements and player titles in the citadel. And there is no time pressure, as you can obtain the other titles without needing to complete the challenges in this season.
These include, among others:
- Defeating bosses under certain conditions
- Completing tasks within a certain time
- Collecting 100,000 citadel coins
- Completing the activity in hardcore mode
You will already receive a player title when you successfully complete the “Dark Citadel” three times at any torment level. For another achievement in the “Heroic Deeds” category, you need to kill treasure goblins in Diablo 4 for 48 years. Such a huge number of goblins is not currently possible, and players believe a goblin level will be introduced to the game.
