In Diablo 4, your heroes inform you when they cannot perform a skill. However, with Season 6, Blizzard is introducing a new setting that allows you to change that.
Every player of Diablo 4 knows it: You are hacking your way through the monsters in Sanctuary, pressing one skill after another, escaping or sprinting with your mount. And in between, you constantly hear and/or read: “I need time” or “I lack essence.”
At least it is now possible to sprint with the mount in a city. Previously, you would hear “I can’t do that here.” These announcements can be quite annoying – as sound, but also as text.
With Season 6, Blizzard is making several changes to the base game, some minor and others fundamental. The progress system is being revamped, the new max level is 60, and the world tiers will become difficulty levels. Additionally, there will be new skills and new unique items for all classes.
Furthermore, there are a few “quality of life” adjustments in Diablo 4. One small change seems to particularly please the community.
What will be changed? A setting will be added that makes your heroes in Diablo 4 talk less. The patch notes on the Blizzard website state:
New settings have been added in the gameplay options menu to hide certain warnings and announcements, such as “You need more mana.”
Blizzard is also making some changes to Season 6 with patch 2.0.1. Previously, you could only complete non-ancestor items (“bequeathed” items) 4 times. After the update, this will be possible up to 8 times. Additionally, the classes will be readjusted, as some simply performed too weakly.
What are players saying about the new option? This seems to be well-received by the community. In a Reddit post with nearly 1,000 upvotes, users discuss the new option. The title of the post reads: “Finally, thank you Blizzard…”
Others point out that there has always been a similar setting. Drellsy comments: “You could always mute the sound, but the text still appeared on the screen.” The text popped up right in the middle of the screen – with each error message. With the new setting, you can apparently turn off the messages.
How do I turn off the sound? Currently, you can at least mute the sound of the messages. You can find the setting “Player audio on errors” in the menu under “Sound” when you scroll all the way down. This way, you will no longer hear announcements like “I lack the necessary essence.”
