Blizzard has introduced a new beta for Diablo 4 to test the servers. At the same time, there are also a few new rewards to earn. However, only those who reach level 20 again will get them.
From May 12 to May 14, another beta in Diablo 4 will run. In the so-called “Server Slam,” the servers are to be tested. At the same time, Blizzard has introduced a new reward for the beta. But those who want it must play through the entire beta again.
New Characters in the Last Beta of Diablo 4
Why do you need to reach level 20 again? There is a new, unique reward for all players, who can defeat the world boss Ashava. However, you must reach level 20 to unlock it. The new mount trophy Ashava’s Howl will only be unlocked if you defeat Ashava with a level 20 character.
This means: If you really want to collect all the rewards for the beta, you need to level up to level 20 again because all character progress is deleted after each beta (via news.blizzard.com):
All character progress during the early access and open beta will not be transferred to the Server Slam. Additionally, all character progress during the Server Slam will not be transferred to the released game.
This probably won’t surprise most people since Blizzard had already explained that progress from the beta will not carry over to the final game.
For some, it may still be annoying to have to reach level 20 for the third or fourth time to really collect all the rewards. Especially since there are also some who complain that these rewards could have been unlocked in the first beta as well. Some players are upset about this “artificial” grind.
4 Rewards are Available during the Beta
What rewards can you earn in the beta? Currently (as of April 2023), you can earn a total of 4 rewards in the Diablo 4 beta:
- Player title “First Slain”: Earned by reaching the city of Kyovashad with a character.
- Player title “Early Explorer”: Earned by reaching level 20 with a character.
- Cosmetic item of the Beta Wolf Bundle: Earned by reaching level 20 with a character.
- Mount trophy Ashava’s Howl: Unlocked when you defeat Ashava with a level 20 character.
The three rewards from the first beta can still be earned if you did not reach level 20 there or were unable to participate in or chose not to participate in the beta.
