Diablo 4 offers a total of 32 mounts that you can acquire randomly in the game, receive as gifts through events, or purchase for a fee. We show you all the mounts and explain how to obtain them.
How do I unlock mounts? Before you can equip your mount with cool skins, you need a mount. You must unlock this by completing the quest “Donan’s Favor”. Once you have done that, you can go to any stable master in the town or village and customize your horse. Armor, accessories, and skins can be selected separately.

What you need to know about mounts: So far, there are 32 mounts that you can unlock, but not every one of these examples is free. Unfortunately, some can only be acquired for a fee in Blizzard’s item shop or through Twitch.

1. Old Nell Steed
Location: You receive it for free as your first horse after completing the quest “Donan’s Favor”.
2. Mottled Steed
Location: You can get it for 20,000 gold at any available stable.
3. Grey Steed
Location: You can get it for 20,000 gold at any available stable.
4. Bloody Steed
Location: You can obtain it for 100,000 red dust in the Fields of Hatred.
5. Temptation
Location: Purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of Diablo 4.
6. Primal Instinct
Location: Gift 2 subscriptions on Twitch.
7. Trapper’s Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters, chests, and everywhere in the world.
8. Taiga Roan
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Shattered Peaks” region.
9. Striped Steppe
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Dry Steppe” region.
10. Spotted Shale-Coat
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Scosglen” region.
11. Spectral Charger
Location: You may receive it as a reward for participating in a Legion event.
12. Seal Brown
Location: Can be found from monsters, chests, and everywhere in the world.
13. Plains Yearling
Location: Currently unknown.
14. Pale Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Shattered Peaks” region.
15. Marshback Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Hawezar” region.
16. Marsh Roan Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Hawezar” region.
17. Grisly Calico Steed
Location: Currently unknown.
18. Granite-Coat Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Scosglen” region.
19. Executioner’s Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters, chests, and everywhere in the world.
20. Dustback Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Dry Steppe” region.
21. Decaying Steed
Location: You receive it from treasure goblins.
22. Cavalier’s Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters, chests, and everywhere in the world.
23. Caldeum Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters, chests, and everywhere in the world.
24.Buckskin Bay Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters and chests in the “Kehjistan” region.
25. Blood Bay Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters in the “Kehjistan” region.
26. Brigand’s Steed
Location: Can be found from monsters, chests, and everywhere in the world.
27. Bloody Liquid Steed
Location: Defeat the Echo of Lilith at World Tier 4, Level 100.
28. Liath Icehowl
Location: Can only be purchased for real money in the item shop.
29. Ingot
Location: Can only be purchased for real money in the item shop.
30. Triune Charger
Location: Can only be purchased for real money in the item shop.
31. Dark Steed
Location: Currently unknown.
32. Light Bearer
Location: Pre-order bonus.
These were all the known mounts that players can currently acquire. It is unknown whether Blizzard will provide additional free variants of your horse for grinding. However, it is highly likely that more variants will be offered for purchase in the shop and the Battle Pass in the future.
