Blizzard has already announced the next Season 2 for Diablo 4. You still have a few days to complete everything in Season 1 that you want to finish. MeinMMO gives you tips on what you should still do while there is still time.
When does Season 1 end? You have until Tuesday, October 17 for Season 1 and the first Battle Pass. A specific time is still pending, but maintenance could take several hours.
When does Season 2 start? On the same day, October 17, Season 2 will begin. The theme of the season this time is blood and vampires. You can find all the info about Season 2 of Diablo 4 in our overview here.
What happens to my Season character? All Season characters from Season 1 will become eternal characters. The boxes, gold, and materials will be combined. Season content will also be transferred to the Eternal Realms.
If you want to play Season 2, you will have to start a new character again. Old characters will then only work on the Eternal Realm.
1. Get all the cosmetics you still want
The Season Pass of Diablo 4 has some cosmetic content that you can currently only obtain during the season. If appearance is important to you and you like the style of the Battle Pass, you should grind until October 17 for:
Free Path:
- the class-agnostic craftsman set
- some weapon skins
- the title “Unspeakable Unholdin”/“Unspeakable Unhold”
Paid Path:
- class-specific weapon and armor skins
- the title “Lurking Survivor”/“Lurking Survivor”
- various emotes as well as the tombstone “Overwhelmed Hero”
- the Awakened Cold Iron Horse Armor at level 100 of the Pass
By purchasing the Battle Pass alone, you will also receive the Cold Iron Horse Armor (the non-awakened version) without having to do anything more. The paid path also includes a bit of platinum, but not enough to buy the new Pass.
Caution! Make sure when purchasing not to accidentally use your level jumps. Players have already complained about this early on.
2. Clean out your boxes
Since all your characters will land on the Eternal Realm after Season 1, all boxes and inventories will be combined. This means: if you are already having trouble managing space now, it will be even harder after Season 1.
If you want to avoid items permanently landing in the post or even disappearing because you forget to pick them up and have no space for weeks, you should definitely clean out the boxes on both realms. A few tips for cleaning up:
- think about which class or build you are not playing anyway and part with the corresponding gear
- throw away all gems that are not of the highest or second-highest rank – you really don’t need them
- do not keep any aspects that are not very well rolled or very rare and important for certain builds
- create “pack donkey” characters that can simply load their inventory full when you absolutely cannot part with items. Tip: Name them accordingly for quick retrieval
You can also find some tips here on MeinMMO for items that you can always sell without concern.
3. Prepare your next character
If you want to play Season 2, you will have to start a new character again. However, this does not start “completely at 0”, but can take along a few contents that you can already prepare now.
To ensure a quick and smooth start, you should:
- complete the campaign if not done yet – this way you will get to the season content faster
- uncover the entire map and activate all Lilith statues – map progress will be transferred to the season and gives you a decent boost
- think about which class you want to play. Here you can find the tier list of the best classes in Diablo 4
This only applies to players who want to start the new season content as quickly as possible. If you enjoy exploration and the campaign, take your time, no one is rushing you.
Although Season 1 has received some criticism, many players, even in the otherwise quite negatively inclined Reddit, agree that they want to try out Season 2. However, one improvement that many wish for concerns the most important items in the game:
