What happens in Diablo 3? On August 26, Season 27 starts in Diablo 3. With patch 2.7.4, the new season begins and brings the “Call of Light” as the seasonal theme. If you play a seasonal character in Season 27, everything starts from “zero” and the race to level 70 is on.
Here in the tier list, we show you the classes and builds that have the greatest potential in Greater Nephalem Rifts in Season 27.
What makes Season 27 special? With the seasonal theme, Blizzard gives each class unique bonuses. In Sanctuary, you collect consumables (Angel Stamps) that allow you to upgrade legendary items to sacred items. A sacred item then randomly receives one of three class-specific enchantments.
These changes also impact the meta.

Use the tier list here as a rough guide for the strongest builds. Ultimately, it still counts in Diablo 3: whoever grinds more and has higher Paragon levels will become stronger and can push many builds up the leaderboards.

The 3 Best Builds of the Barbarian in Season 27
- S-Tier: LoD HotA (via maxroll.gg): The strongest build for the Barbarian in Season 27 plays with the Hammer of the Ancients. The advantages of the build are that you can take a lot of damage and attack quickly. Your chance for crits is also quite high. However, it takes a long time to assemble the LoD build and the playstyle is quite one-dimensional. As a Holy Power, your best choice is the Holy Hammer of the Ancients. Alternatively, the Holy Whirlwind.
- S-Tier: Raekor Boulder Toss (via maxroll.gg): With the Raekor set, you enhance your Boulder Toss and with this mobile build, you are quick on your feet. You don’t have to play entirely at close range. This is good as the build is quite “soft” and you need to position yourself well. As a Holy Power, you choose the Holy Wrath of the Berserker.
- A-Tier: Waste Whirlwind Rend with Starter Set (via maxroll.gg): With the help of the seasonal journey and Haedrig’s Gift, you can put together the “Wrath of the Wastes” set. Then you just need a few pieces for the well-known Whirlwind build, which has been consistently at the top of the tier lists for many seasons. It’s easy to play and you are very mobile with it. In higher Greater Rifts, you need to master the build to progress.
