Arachyr Firebat Witch Doctor in Season 9 of Diablo 3
If you play the Witch Doctor with the Arachyr set, you will quickly notice that you have low toughness. This is one of the drawbacks of the Arachyr set. For this reason, it is usually played in groups where zBarbs and/or zMonks keep the Witch Doctor alive. However, the Arachyr-Firebats build is also viable in solo play.
The playstyle of the Firebat Witch Doctor is straightforward. The build focuses on the bats, which you channel near many enemies. With your Withering Rune, you can gain a lot of toughness when you gather many enemies around you. A 10-stack of this ability is important if you want to survive in high Nephalem Rifts.
You should not use Spirit Walk all the time to move from mob group to mob group. This ability can save your life when you are in elite groups and they use their affixes. This build is intended for solo play and offers you many ways to regenerate mana.
Locust Swarm and Haunt are used because for this build you wear the Ring of Emptiness in Kanais Cube or on your character. You also use Coils of the First Spider in Kanai’s Cube to regenerate more life during channeling. As a weapon, you use the Staff of Chiroptera in Kanai’s Cube, which gives you more damage and reduces mana cost.
