The new patch 2.4.3 is available on the PTR servers of Diablo 3. In this patch, there are new starter sets for the upcoming season 9, which you can earn through the season journey. Additionally, the Diablo 1 dungeon is integrated into the game, and various equipment items receive new legendary affixes. Of course, there are also pets you can add to your collection. We will show you what to expect in season 9.
Diablo 3 Season 9 Start and Anniversary Dungeon
The 9th season will start next year. The patch 2.4.3 is currently being tested on the PTR servers and is expected to go live in January. Shortly after that, season 9 will begin in Diablo 3.
Every January there will be the Diablo 1 dungeon event, where you can “meet” the old bosses. And by “meet” we mean “kill.” The Anniversary Dungeonrewards participants with a Red Soul Shard. This new legendary gemstone has the following effects:
Regularly rings around control and unleashes a fire ring that inflicts 12,500% weapon damage on affected enemies.
After leveling up, your resource costs are removed, and skill cooldowns are reduced by 75% for 30 seconds (requires gem level 25)
If you complete the Anniversary Dungeon with a newly created character, you will receive a pet. But it’s not just “any” pet, it’s the Butcher. Yes, exactly! The big, powerful guy who once taught you to fear him will now be your pet. It feels kind of funny.
Season 9 – Haedrig’s Gift – Season Journey
There are rewards for the various stages of the season journey in Diablo 3. Among other things, there are Haedrig’s gifts that equip you with a certain class set. These contents change in different seasons. In season 9, there are the following starter sets for you:
Barbarian – Might of the Earth
Crusader – Thorns of the Invoker
Demon Hunter – Shadow’s Mantle
Monk – Monkey King’s Garb
Witch Doctor – Garb of the Jade Harvester
Wizard – Firebird’s Finery
Updated Class-Specific Items – 2.4.3 Season 9
In patch 2.4.3, there are changes to legendary items. However, these changes do not apply to items you have already looted. You will need to find the corresponding items again. Additionally, the minimum levels for these items will be adjusted to match the respective class abilities.
Crusader – Akkhan’s Armor: Akkhan’s Talisman (amulet) has been added as the 7th piece to Akkhan’s Armor. The amulet is always rolled with critical hit chance and 3 additional randomly selected affixes. The current bonuses and properties of this set remain unchanged.
Crusader – Faithful Remembrance: For every enemy you hit with Divine Execution, the damage of Blessed Hammer is increased by 50-60% for 10 seconds.
Barbarian – Saffron Shroud: The damage of the next Overpower is increased by 40-50% per enemy hit, with a maximum of 20 enemies.
Demon Hunter – Hellcat Waistguard: Grenades now have a chance to bounce 3 to 5 times. With each bounce, the damage is increased by 50%.
On the last bounce, the damage is increased by 800%!
The following skills are affected by this property:
Splinter Arrow – Dazzling Arrow, Splinter Bomb, Prepared for Everything and no rune
Vengeance – Anathema
Cluster Arrow – Demolition
Rapid Fire – Bombardment
Monk – Fist of the Leech: If you teleport with resource-consuming abilities while Revelation is active, these consumers are also applied for free to a target out of range.
Witch Doctor – The Barber: Spirit Barrage does not deal direct damage but is accumulated on the target. Upon stopping the channeling, the resulting explosion will deal 225% to 250% of the accumulated damage to all enemies within a 15-meter radius.
Wizard – Manald Healing: Enemies affected by paralysis take an additional 13,000% to 14,000% weapon damage as lightning damage.
