Season 18 has been running for a few days in Diablo 3. We take a first look at the leaderboard. Who is currently leading the Ladder in Solo, Duo, Trio or Quad?
What’s happening in Diablo 3 right now? On Friday, August 23, the new Season 18 started in Diablo 3. This means that many players will create a Season character that starts at level 1.
For seasonal players, the fun starts all over again. They need to farm gear, earn Paragon points, and prepare their characters for endgame once again. The leaderboard gives an overview of which players are currently the best and which class they are playing. You can find the best classes and builds for Season 18 in this tier list.
Thus, the leaderboard shows which classes are currently in first place and which are ranked behind. A lot will happen with these placements in the coming weeks. Players will complete even higher Greater Nephalem Rifts with new gear.
The best classes in Diablo 3 – 28.8 Leaderboard
Who is ahead at the start of Season 18? Here we take a look at the current placements (as of 18.08. – 1 PM) of the season rankings. The results come from the official Blizzard leaderboard. Please note that this is not about the Hardcore leaderboard.
Solo: In solo play, the Wizard leads the ranking. He is in first place with GR level 128, followed by the Witch Doctor in second place. After that, in descending order, you find Crusader, Necromancer, Demon Hunter, Monk, Barbarian.
- Wizard – GR 128 – ~14.29 minutes
- Witch Doctor – GR 123 – ~14.49 minutes
- Crusader – GR 116 – ~12.30 minutes
- Necromancer – GR 114 – ~11.23 minutes

Duo: In 2-player groups, the Wizard again proves to be a strong duo class as expected. Together with a Necromancer, he leads the list, and the combo of Wizard and Barbarian currently ranks 3rd and 4th.
Trio: In the ranking for 3-player groups, you mainly find Necromancers and Wizards in the teams. In first place is a group consisting of Wizard, Necromancer, and Barbarian. Following them is a group of Wizard, Necromancer, and Monk.
Quad: In the 4-player groups, it looks like a picture we’ve seen from previous seasons: Currently, a group consisting of Barbarian, Necromancer, Monk, and Wizard is leading the 4-player ranking. At the end of Season 17, this combo was the strongest among the 4-player groups.
This is just the beginning
What else is changing? At the beginning of a season, the leaderboard is all about the people who
- Invest a lot of time
- and have had a lot of loot luck.
Over the next few weeks, even higher levels of Greater Nephalem Rifts will be conquered. Players will collect more gear, strengthen their characters, and continue to climb higher.
