For the birthday patch of Diablo 3, there are some changes for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. We show you what changes on the consoles.
The 20th anniversary of the Diablo series will also be celebrated on PS4 and Xbox One. The new patch 2.4.3 brings a new event and many other changes to Diablo 3. In addition to class changes and new items, some bugs were also fixed. Additionally, there will be better hardware support for the PS4 Pro that allows playing in 4k.
Darkening of Tristram – Also on Consoles
Every year in January, there will be the Darkening of Tristram event where you can play a special dungeon. In this dungeon, there is a retro filter reminiscent of the graphic style from the first part of the Diablo series. In addition, the camera movements and the movement paths of your characters have been adjusted. You can now only move in certain directions in this dungeon. Even the sound and some graphic effects have been changed to give players a retro feeling. What the developers say about the “Darkening of Tristram” event and what their original plans were, they have explained in a video.
Xbox One and PS4 Patch Notes 2.4.3
Two important changes in this patch are the “Darkening of Tristram” event, which is only available in January, and the 4k support for the PS4 Pro. Additionally, there were changes and bug fixes for the different classes in Diablo III:
Barbarian
- Overpower now has 3 charges.
- The cooldown remains at 12 seconds. However, it has a chance to be slightly reduced by critical hits.
Bug Fixes for Classes
- Some bugs have been fixed with monk and wizard abilities.
New Item: Red Soul Shard
- Rings periodically around control and unleashes a fire ring that deals 12,500% weapon damage to affected enemies.
- After leveling up, your resource costs are removed and skill cooldowns are reduced by 75% for 30 seconds (requires gem level 25).
Bug Fixes for Items
- Some bugs have been fixed with existing legendary items. This includes the Hellfire Amulet, Illusory Boots, Pintos Pride and Flail of the Ascended.
- Items that offer a new transmog option should now unlock this option immediately upon obtaining the item for the first time.
- A bug has been fixed that accidentally released cosmetic companions.
Adventure Mode
In adventure mode, the required kills for various bounties have been reduced. You now need fewer kills for the following bounties:
- Kill Aloysius
- Kill Axegrave
- Kill Bholen
- Kill Captain Donn Adams
- Kill The Crusher
Greater Nephalem Rifts
You get another chance to upgrade a legendary gem if you do not die during a Greater Nephalem Rift.
Monsters
There have been changes to various monsters with their affixes. Enemies that can burrow or cast shields will now do so in less frustrating ways.
- If a monster with Shield Affix is the last in the group, the shield is automatically removed.
- Monsters with Damage Reflect now fire the reflected damage as projectiles, instead of directly inflicting the damage on the player.
- Electrifying enemies now deal 35% less damage with this affix. However, the electrical surges can pass through enemies and hit multiple targets.
Additional Bug Fixes
- Bugs that caused display and text errors for certain abilities and items have been fixed.
- Keyboard mappings should now work flawlessly while the UI is hidden.
