What is currently happening in Diablo 3? Every few months, Blizzard starts a new season for the Hack’n’Slash. The special thing about a season is the bonuses that change gameplay. New content like sets is rarely seen, which is why the seasons provide some variation.
Currently, Season 24 in Diablo 3 is active, which started on July 23. In this article, we want to show you on MeinMMO how long the current season will run and when you can generally expect the start of Season 25.
End of Season 24 – When?
What is known: Blizzard states that they will only specifically address the end of a season when the end date is about 14 days away. Usually, a season in Diablo 3 lasts for three months. Special circumstances like major patches can affect the duration and either extend or shorten it.
Officially, it says:
We no longer give a projected end date for seasons. However, seasons should last approximately three months (depending on development needs it might be a bit longer or shorter), and we will notify you at least two weeks before the end of a season in the future.

Our prediction for the end of S23: We at MeinMMO have been following the seasons of Diablo 3 for several years. In our prediction, we show you 4 dates that could be considered as possible end dates for Season 23.
Note that the chapter started on July 23, and the seasons always end on a Sunday.
Update: Season 24 is now lasting longer than planned. However, patch 2.7.2 is set to be tested starting November 4. We expect that the testing will take longer than a week and consider an end of the season on November 7 or 14 to be likely.

So far, it has gone: Blizzard usually stays true to its rough 3-month plan, with only a few exceptions. Let’s take a look at the past:
- Season 23 started on April 2, 2021, and ended on July 18, 2021
- Season 22 started on November 20, 2020, and ended on March 28
- Season 21 started on July 3, 2020, and ended on November 8, 2020
- Season 20 started on March 13, 2020, and ended on June 21, 2020
- Season 19 started on November 22, 2019, and ran until March 1, 2020
- Season 18 started on August 23, 2019, and ended on November 10, 2019
- Season 17 started on May 17, 2019, and ended on August 18, 2019
- Season 16 started on January 18, 2019, and was supposed to end on March 17, 2019. But it ended on May 12, 2019
Start of Season 25 – When?
What we know: Based on the experience of recent years, we know that the break between two seasons lasts about one to two weeks. The last seasons (16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24) all started on a Friday.
What we suspect: We assume based on experience that Season 24 will also start on a Friday. And that about one to two weeks after the end of Season 23.
