Diablo 2: Resurrected will receive eight new rune words with Patch 2.6, which Blizzard had introduced over the past weekend through various YouTubers. One of the new rune words has left a particularly good impression on players because it could strengthen the melee combat of the Druid.
What are these rune words? Overall, 8 new rune words were presented over the weekend by four different YouTubers. The rune word “Metamorphosis” specifically targets the Druid and their melee abilities.
- Ground, Hearth, Temper, Bulwark, Cure (introduced by MacroBioBoiDbrunski125)
- Metamorphosis (introduced by Dbrunski125)
- Hustle (introduced by Kano)
- Mosaic (introduced by Lucky Luciano)
With Patch 2.4, Diablo 2: Resurrected received 7 new rune words, which could be tested on the PTR in January 2022.
Patch 2.6 brings 8 new rune words
What can the new rune words do? The new rune words have various properties and increase, for example, hit recovery or maximum life. Here you can see the properties in the overview:

“This will be very powerful”
Which rune word is well received by the fans? The first reactions from Diablo fans to the new rune words vary. Some players are not particularly convinced yet, but one rune word has made a solid first impression and has been described as “wild” and “powerful”: “Metamorphosis”.
Metamorphosis was presented on YouTube by Dbrunski125, targets Druid builds, and is primarily intended to increase melee attack power. On reddit, players write:
- codeth: “This is just wild. I can’t wait to try it (via reddit)!”
- r3ni: “Will be very powerful with a Druid-specific helmet with nice rolls and I love the unique concept of this rune word, makes melee druids much more interesting (via reddit).”
Further reactions to some of the new rune words are:
- UTmastuh about Ground, Hearth, Temper, Bulwark, and Cure: “I see low-level items that won’t be too useful […] (via reddit).”
- Lillyth: “Bulwark is so strong, even though it’s so cheap (via reddit).”
