Diablo 2 Resurrected is experiencing server issues on Sunday, October 10, 2021: The servers are apparently offline. Many players can no longer find their online characters. Blizzard has already commented on this.
What’s going on? Currently, numerous players are reporting login issues in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Apparently, many online characters have disappeared.
These problems have apparently been ongoing for over an hour, and Blizzard last tweeted at 15:06. They are investigating the issue, but there are no details available.
Update, October 10, 19:00: It seems the problem was temporarily resolved, but issues have apparently reappeared. Blizzard has spoken: “We are currently investigating reports of login issues.” (via Twitter)

Character Not Showing – What Now?
This is the problem: When the servers are offline, players cannot access their online characters.
Are the characters deleted? No. Once the servers are back online, you should be able to continue playing with them. Currently, you just can’t see them because they are stored on the servers and are not displayed without a connection.
However, under Blizzard’s statement, some players are already complaining, especially those who usually only have time to play Diablo 2 on weekends. Some are now also worried that their character could completely disappear.
It’s certainly frustrating, as many were probably looking forward to some rounds of Diablo 2 Resurrected in online mode this Sunday afternoon.
The issue strongly resembles the disappearing characters at the launch of Diablo 2 Resurrected. There, offline characters disappeared due to an annoying bug. In this case, it should not come to that.
Here’s how to workaround the issue: Blizzard advised not to give online and offline characters the same name.
However, Blizzard has not stated what the situation is with the missing characters after the fix. It is therefore still unknown whether you will get them back or not.
