With their new fun game, the developers of Aggro Crab created a new hit on Steam. Now there are the first imitators in Roblox and the developer is not happy about it.
Which Steam hit is it about? Peak is a co-op climbing game that you can find on Steam since June 16, 2025. You can climb either alone or together with your friends to the top of a mountain located in the middle of a deserted island.
Actually, it was a fun project of the development team, but it has now sold over a million copies. The game became known among others through some Twitch streamers. The developers even participated in some rounds, by taking on the role of a plush toy.
However, what the developers do not find amusing at all is the attempt to recreate the game. The developer is now pointing out a fan project in Roblox, which they strongly advise against.

What kind of fan project is this? In Roblox, it is possible to create your own games. There is the title Cliff, which translates to Cliff in English. Just from the name and the cover image of the game, one can guess where the creators drew their inspiration from.
- Cliff is described as a challenging climbing game where small mistakes can mean a fall. As in the original, there is a mountain on an island whose peak the players must reach.
- The creator of the Roblox game states that players must work together. They must support each other in climbing up.
- The game was created in Roblox about a week after the release of Peak.
The fans are even so transparent that they write in the game description that Cliff was inspired by Peak. They even express special thanks to the “amazing creators”.
How are the developers reacting? They are far from thrilled. On X, the development team of Peak writes that they would “rather pirate their game than play the microtransaction-filled rip-off on Roblox”.
In the comments, it is speculated that the copy has so many microtransactions that players can even resurrect themselves through in-game purchases. However, the commenter states that they have never played the game themselves.
Many commenters do not understand how one could argue against the nearly €7.50 that Peak costs when there are microtransactions in such a copy.
How successful is the copy? At least in terms of player numbers, Cliff lags behind. Currently, the copy has 5,063 active players. Peak has 23,462 active players at the moment (see SteamDB).
Many users in the comments are also demanding that the developers sue the fans for copyright infringement or at least have the game removed from Roblox.
With a price of €7.49, Peak is cheaper than many other titles on Steam, so pirating it would not be worth it.
