A developer of Dune: Awakening talked about the 10-year plan of the survival MMO in an interview and explained what players can expect.
What kind of plan is it? Shortly after the release, the developers of Dune: Awakening explained that they had created a loose 10-year plan. This is not binding and does not go into detail, but it is meant to help the developers better understand the vision of the game and lay the groundwork for future updates.
Now, a developer of the survival MMO has revealed details about the plan for the first time, and they seem to be much more detailed than initially assumed.

Other planets, third faction, and polar caps
What did the developer reveal? In an interview with Gamesradar+, Production Director Ole Andreas Hayley revealed that the developers are very pleased with the launch of their survival MMO. He explains: “It has been well received, our player retention numbers for the game are extremely good. This has exceeded our expectations by far.”
These good numbers would allow the team to focus on the features they couldn’t complete before launch. He mentions the polar caps waiting for players at the North and South Poles of Arrakis as an example for a future update.
In addition, the developer explains: “We will eventually go to new planets” and makes it clear that Arrakis will not be the only planet in Dune: Awakening – assuming, of course, that the developers can stick to the 10-year plan.
What else does the developer reveal? Hayley also talks about the already announced third faction of Dune: Awakening. He reveals that this will first be introduced in the new Dune movie and then come to the game “synchronously”.
He cannot reveal who it is, but they do not want to become dependent on the films. He further explains: “We want to ensure that we coordinate in a way so that the audience receives a cohesive experience and exploration of Arrakis, but that is the only thing that influences us.”
The fact that the developers of Dune: Awakening are already thinking about leaving Arrakis so soon after the release and providing players with new planets shows that the 10-year plan is more than just bullet points on paper.
