Detective Conan is getting new episodes of the anime in German. Some of them can be watched starting now. Almost all voices from the RTL2 era are back.
What episodes are these? Crunchyroll has announced that episodes 484 to 533 will be available with German dubbing. Among them are many love stories, appearances of the Detective Boys, as well as Kaito Kid. Even the men in black are an important part of some episodes.
In Japan, these episodes were aired 18 to 19 years ago. Now, viewers from Germany can also watch the episodes in German audio. Almost all the voices you remember from the RTL2 anime era are included. At least the majority.
Who is missing? Last year, Jörg Hengstler passed away, the German voice actor for Kogoro Mori. Since then, he has been replaced by Dirk Bublies. Viewers could already admire his talent in the film Detective Conan: The 1 Million Dollar Pentagram.
Sadly, shortly after Hengstler, the German voice of Professor Agasa also passed away. The helpful professor was voiced by Frank Ciazynski. Now, Peter Reinhardt takes his place, who was also heard for the first time in the movie.
Detective Conan with new episodes in German
When can I watch them? The first 12 episodes are available now. So you can already watch more episodes of the young detective. Further episodes will only be available in a month. All subsequent episodes will then be released on a monthly basis.
Where can I watch them? The new episodes in German are available on Crunchyroll. Unfortunately, you need a paid premium subscription to watch the anime. Here, costs of around €7 to €10 per month may apply.
How many episodes are still missing? In fact, the Detective Conan anime continues to air regularly on Japanese television. You can imagine that the German dubbing is not even close to catching up with the Japanese version, given that episodes that are 19 years old are being dubbed now.
Crunchyroll will dub all episodes up to 533. In Japan, episode 1169 is currently airing. The voice acting team would therefore have a lot of work ahead of them if they are to catch up with all episodes.
