Yesterday, after a month of silence, the long-awaited Weekly Update for Destiny was released, outlining the plans for the coming weeks. Some fans believed: Now they will reveal the master plan. However, it was just the mini-plan for the upcoming weeks. Two events are coming up: the Iron Banner and Valentine’s Day. There is still no information about the next “big thing”.
At least Design Lead Lars Bakken assured that they are working harder on the lag in the Crucible that plagues so many.
Most Guardians could use new weapons and armor. They want a patch to shake up the Tower vendors’ offerings in Destiny or even introduce new maximum values for items. For now, we don’t know anything about that, but let’s first deal with our friend with the tentacle acne.

When will Xur arrive today and when will he leave again?
Xur arrives on January 22nd at 10:00 AM at the Tower (they probably won’t let him into the Reef anymore). He works for 48 hours and leaves on Sunday, January 24th at 10:00 AM.

What does Xur have in store today? What items does he have?
This week, Xur does NOT have a weapon, but chest engrams. He wants 19 strange coins for them.
For Titans, there are the boots Type 44 Out of Bounds (43/61 DIS, 43/61 STR) they cost 13 strange coins.
For Hunters, the gloves Sealed Ahamkara Grips. (31/44 DIS, 29/42 STR)
For Warlocks, the helm “THE RAM.” (59/74 STR).
Gloves are available as legacy engrams. Here are Year 1 items with Year 1 values.
These new items can be found in chest engrams.
In December, 15 new exotic items were added, including 3 chest armors. They can now be drawn from the chest engram – you should open the engrams with the class you want the item with.
The new exotic armors since December are:
- for Titans the healing armor and the Dawning’s Guard.
- for Hunters the ATS/8 Tarantella.
- for Warlocks, there was no new chest in December.
More important information: Today the Black Spindle is available again. Lost in Light is active.
