The MMO shooter Destiny starts the new week on Tuesday, August 25th, with a fresh rotation of the weekly challenges.
A few more weeks of “House of Wolves” and Year 1, then it will be “Out with the old, in with the new.” Bungie is currently rotating to get players as excited as possible for the new expansion, the PR machinery is running, new articles appear daily, fresh news and exciting topics, both positive and negative, line up like people in queues.
This will continue, perhaps even intensify: The next reveal stream is planned for Wednesday evening, tonight or overnight they want to present some of the Year 2 exotics through Xur.
But let’s first focus on the weekly reset.
Weekly Nightfall Strike against Omnigul
Crota’s “Maybe, maybe not” girlfriend Omnigul is the star in the Nightfall. Modifiers: Voidburn, Angry, Juggler.
In the heroic Weekly: Nexus
In the Nexus for the heroic Weekly. It’s a No-Burn. The modifier is Grounded, so better stay on the ground.
All about the Prison of Elders in Destiny for the week of August 25th
Norwegian Carrot with Stomach Problems – Gulrot
In the 32 Prison, Gulrot, which is Norwegian for carrot, awaits the Guardians. How you can soothe its upset stomach, you can read in this guide.
- Vex/Airborne – Guardians deal more damage when they are in the air
- Hive/Grounded – Guardians take more damage when they are in the air
- Vex – Voidburn
- Hive/Angry – Enemies cannot be stopped by impact hits
- Hive/Exposure – Guardians’ shields are reinforced, but do not regenerate
Cabal Make a Grand Entrance
In the 34 Prison of Elders, the hordes of Cabal wait for the players, these are essentially militarized high-tech turtles. Well, actually not. Their leader is Valus Trau’ug. And here are the waves:
- Cabal/Juggler – Enemies do not drop ammunition for the weapon with which they were defeated
- Hive/Switch – Enemies deal increased damage in close combat
- Fallen/Catapult – Grenade cooldown is reduced
- Hive/Brawler – Guardians take a hard right hook, dealing increased melee damage
- Cabal/Juggler – Enemies do not drop ammunition for the weapon with which they were taken down
Skolas, Kell of Kells, in the 35 Prison
In the 35 Prison, the Folsom Prison, once again singing wonder Skolas Cash, the Kell of Kells, performs his hit “Prison of Elders Blues.” Photos and videos of the performance are prohibited.
This week, the following modifiers are active: Brawler and Juggler.
The five waves to him remain the same.
- Hive – Exposure/Brawler – Guardians’ shields are stronger, but they do not recover/Melee damage of the Guardians is increased
- Vex – Ground/Airborne – Guardians deal more damage in the air, but also take much more damage there
- Cabal – Catapult/Ark burn – the cooldown of grenades is reduced, Arc damage is significantly increased, which also applies to the enemies
- Fallen – Specialist/Juggler – Special weapons deal double damage, enemies do not drop ammunition for the weapon with which they were defeated
- Fallen – Trickles/Sidearms – Abilities have an increased cooldown, damage with primary weapons is increased
What does Variks have this week?
Variks has the shotgun Wolfborn Oath this week (with Solar damage and a bonus damage against Fallen), plus helmets.
The helmets have:
- for Hunters 130 DIS
- for Warlocks 124 INT
- and for Titans 115 INT
This time they are aimed at the Vex in the Prison of Elders.
Are there guides, videos, and tips?
Admittedly, this section has declined a bit in recent weeks. Currently, we are presenting a video of someone killing the Nightfall. It used to be significantly more. However, no YouTubers in the USA are currently uploading runs with much enthusiasm (it’s the middle of the night there). One can probably assume that with “King of the Awoken” many things will pick up again. Surely we will still find a few videos for today.
