In Destiny, we present the Warlock Surfing in a guide. This way, you can move quickly across the maps.
If you have always thought that your Warlock could use a speed boost, we now have the perfect guide for you: Similar to Titan Skating, the Warlock can also zip across the maps faster with a trick.
How to Do Warlock Surfing
Warlock Surfing works with all Warlock subclasses. The key is the perk “Focused Chaos”, which improves gliding to provide a speed boost.
Here’s how it works:
- Run with the Warlock.
- Execute a normal jump.
- When you reach the maximum height, activate gliding (on PS4 with X). Then immediately deactivate gliding (also X).
- The moment you touch the ground, press the jump button and repeat step 3. Timing is crucial.
- By hopping across the map this way, you move faster than usual. Here is a graphic:

By the way, it’s advisable to reduce agility so that you don’t jump too high on the first jump. You want to move quickly horizontally, not vertically.
In the video by Fallout Plays, this method is presented with moving images:
What Are the Benefits of Warlock Surfing?
How you use the increased speed to your advantage is up to you. Here are some examples of what you can do with it:
- Since low agility is recommended, you can skill armor and recovery while still being fast.
- “Drive-by grenades” or “Drive-by Nova Bombs” are possible:
- While surfing, you can also quickly turn around to target enemies behind you.
- You get from one place to another on the map faster.
Note: Warlock Surfing is not a new trick in Destiny. Some Guardians have been using this since launch. However, it is still unknown to many players, and guides for it are scarce.
