In Destiny, Vosik greets you in the “Wrath of the Machine” raid for the challenge. What needs to be done to get additional loot?
On November 1st at 7 PM, Bungie surprised the Guardians: Right during the Festival of the Lost, the first challenge mode in the “Wrath of the Machine” raid went live. Until now, the developers only hinted vaguely that the raid challenges would be the next big thing after the Halloween event.
Through a leak, it has already come to light that there will most likely be two challenge bosses in this raid: Vosik and Aksis. And Vosik is now live. We will tell you what mechanics you need to follow and what extra loot there is.
This is how Vosik works in Challenge Mode
Vosik is the first boss in “Wrath of the Machine”, where you encounter him twice. In the first phase, you don’t need to pay attention to anything for the challenge. It only starts when you enter the Splicer Hideout to take down Vosik.
You can complete the challenge in both normal mode and heroic mode. Basically, there is only one condition that must be fulfilled to receive the extra loot:
- All 4 side rooms must be closed with the “bombs”, the SIVA charges.
You don’t shoot with weapons at the door mechanics to close them before the critical SIVA density, but instead shoot a SIVA charge at each one.
And this is how it works:
- The start of the fight against Vosik is as always: You take out adds, throw the bombs at Vosik, and deal damage to him. You can find the exact procedure in our “Wrath of the Machine” guide.
- At the end of a DPS phase (also called damage phase), two bombs drop:

- These are picked up by two of your guardians. They go into the corresponding (glowing) rooms to the left and right of the room.
- Once both rooms are occupied, the bomb carriers throw the bomb at the mechanism and you are protected.
- Now you have activated two rooms with the bombs. The other two rooms are still missing. Wait for the next DPS phase, grab the two falling bombs, and repeat the process.
- In the third DPS phase, Vosik should fall.
Note: It should also be possible in the normal mode for you to occupy two rooms after the first DPS phase, then only one, and then another one, to have one more DPS phase.
By the way: In the last DPS phase, you can also use the two falling bombs to deal damage to Vosik.
And that’s it.
The Loot of the Vosik Challenge
As a reward, you receive the perfected ornament, which will make your raid armor glow.
Additionally, there is this pretty emblem called “Vosik’s Gift”:
Furthermore, other items that can have a maximum of 385 in normal mode and a maximum of 400 in heroic mode. Boots are guaranteed to drop. There are also reports of an exotic engram.
