In the MMO shooter Destiny, we look at the treasures of the Dawning – mystery packages that can be purchased for real money.
Bungie used the previous “Rise of Iron” events not only to deliver new and free game content to the Guardians but also to introduce new opportunities for microtransactions into the game. While the Festival of the Lost was stigmatized as “Festival of Microtransactions” with little content, “The Dawning” now offers more content for the Guardians.
During the current winter event, the “Treasures of the Dawning” were introduced. These include exciting items but are only obtainable in bulk through the Eververse. Tess Everis is once again asking you to pay. However, there are also two ways to get free treasures.
How to Get Treasures of the Dawning
You can earn the treasures by:
- Increasing your reputation with Amanda Holliday in the SRL event to Rank 5. As a reward, there is one treasure per character. So you can earn a maximum of 3 treasures per account.
- You will also receive one free treasure of the Dawning per week by completing one heroic strike. The event lasts three weeks. However, you can also earn treasures in the weeks after.
Update: There is also a treasure of the Dawning in Amanda’s gift!
If you want more treasures, you must acquire them in the Eververse for Silver, the real money currency in Destiny. One treasure costs 200 Silver, three treasures cost 500 Silver, and 5 treasures cost 800 Silver. By the way, 500 Silver costs 5 euros.
The Content of the Treasures of the Dawning
The content of the treasures of the Dawning is random. So if you want a specific item and invest a few euros, there is no guarantee that you will get that specific item. A criticism that is frequently read in the community.
A treasure contains four to five objects. There is always one “guaranteed” item and a few “possible” items included.
The guaranteed item is either a Wailing/Scorned Light/Armored piece, a Sparrow, or a new ornament. The new ornaments can only be obtained through these treasures, they are not available in the “Silver Dust Shop” around the corner. Only the “old” weapon ornaments are available there.
The possible items are either horns, chromatic items, mask-like consumables, and the festive “The Dawning” armor that we have already introduced.
If you want to complete this “The Dawning” armor set, there is likely no way around using real money. And you must also rely on luck. If you manage to get it together, you will receive the Sparrow EV-53 Glimmergold and the shader Sunscorch.
