“Ruin Wings” are the new exotic gauntlets that arrived for Titans in Destiny with the DLC “The Darkness Awaits”. They are an absolute hidden gem. This is because they significantly increase the drop rate of heavy ammo.

With heavy ammo, rocket launchers like the best weapon in the game, the Gjallarhorn, or a powerful machine gun like Thunderlord can be operated. Normally, ammo scarcity means you have to ration the usage of this weapon category. Not so with the gauntlets “Ruin Wings.”
Titans are talking in the reddit forum about how thanks to the Ruin Wings, they can use their exotic weapons one-third of the time. With the significantly increased ammo drop, they bypass the ammo limitation and can thus disrupt the balance.
In recent weeks, since Xur offered them on December 12 and again on December 19, there have been real praises for the gauntlets. It looks like they have what it takes to become the new “must-have exotic” for Titans. After the Hunter gauntlets “Don’t Touch Me” bring a fresh effect and are in demand in very specific situations, the Titan gauntlets are suited for broad usage.
