Destiny: Tipps und Tricks für Fusionsgewehre

In the MMO shooter Destiny, we present a few tips and tricks on how to use fusion rifles effectively.

The April update a few weeks ago not only brought new content but also some weapon balance changes in Destiny. As part of these changes, fusion rifles were boosted with stability, making them an interesting option for many Guardians again. Before the update, sniper rifles and shotguns clearly dominated the special weapon slot.

Now fusion rifles are also seen more frequently in the Crucible. We present a few tips on how to approach this weapon class.

Beginner Tips for Fusion Rifles

Every shot from a fusion rifle requires a certain charge time. Depending on the archetype, this can be longer or shorter. Generally, the longer it takes to fire a charge, the more devastating the impact.

To avoid going down in the Crucible before you have fired a shot, follow these tips:

• Especially as a beginner, it’s better to take a passive approach: Let the enemy Guardians come to you and be ready to blast them away with the fusion rifle.
• If someone appears on your radar, keep your finger on the trigger and rhythmically charge the weapon. Always be aware of your surroundings: Where might the enemy appear?

• 

  If the enemy is very close and could come around the corner at any moment, it’s not a big deal if you release a charge early – he might be rushing in at that moment. Prepare the weapon again immediately.
• Fusion rifles have a high ammunition capacity compared to other special weapons. You can use them aggressively – especially when you are darting around corners where you suspect enemies.
• If an enemy stands in front of you and you fire a charge at him, switch immediately to your primary weapon. Quickly finish him off with that if he is not already dealt with.

An excellent fusion rifle, which you can acquire at the Future War Cult, is The Empty. It has strong attributes in impact and stability and is considered a top weapon with the given perks.

How to Aim with Fusion Rifles in Destiny

With fusion rifles, you do not aim to score precision hit after precision hit. Each charge consists of multiple “bullets.” Your goal is to pump as many of them into the enemy as possible.

To achieve this, aim roughly at the middle of the body. If the enemy is further away, aim a bit lower. Each fusion rifle has a tendency to shoot higher or lower.

The Influence of Stats on Fusion Rifles

The respective stats influence your fusion rifles as follows:

• Charge Time: Indicates how quickly the fusion rifle charges.
• Impact: This is the damage of the fusion rifle. It lies between 37-50 per “bullet.”
• Range: This increases the speed of the “bullets.”
• Stability: Stability constrains the “bullets” so that they fly tightly towards the enemies. Especially for kills at longer distances or for fusion rifles with lower damage, you need a high value here to ensure as many bullets hit the target.
• Reload: The reload speed of the fusion rifle.

Pay Attention to These Perks with Fusion Rifles

Like other weapon classes, fusion rifles come with random perks. Which ones suit you best depends on your personal playstyle. Generally, you can look out for the following perks that enhance fusion rifles:

• Snapshot: Aiming with this weapon increases the effectiveness.
• Enhanced Barrel: Increased range, slower reload.
• Reinforced Frame: Increased stability, reduced magazine size.
• Hidden Hand: This weapon improves target acquisition.
• Hot-Swap: readied this weapon grants a short period of bonus precision.

More tips and hints:

• Fusion rifles can shine in “air combat”, especially with the perks Icarus and Hip-Fire.
• Always pay attention to your positioning. If you are standing in open space, you are standing wrong!
• You should know the map well for this. When you know where suitable spots are, you can ambush unsuspecting Guardians and let them float away elegantly.
