In the MMO shooter Destiny , the new raid “King’s Fall” will not be available directly on September 15. Additionally, there will be more information about exotic weapons, Xur, and the Iron Banner.
In an interview with IGN, while gameplay was running in the background, new information about “The Taken King” was revealed. Game Director Luke Smith shared mainly new details. This took place at PAX Prime over the weekend.
Raid starts later and what the heck is going on with Gjallarhorn?
The raid “King’s Fall” will not be available with the release of “The Taken King” but will come later. They already have a plan, a date in mind, and promise to announce the date in a timely manner so that players can prepare.
In the interview, Luke Smith also hinted that Gjallarhorn would not be coming in Year 2, while other exotic weapons from Year 1 that will not be available right away in the fall will eventually come over time. Gjallarhorn was a solution to the problems of the game in Year 1: “Everything just had too much health.”
New information about Xur, exotic weapons, and the Iron Banner
More news from the IGN interview:
- The Iron Banner will continue into Year 2, with a new set of gear. Smith stated: Players will be eager to see how the Wolf looks.
- “Zala’s Supercell” is the new exotic auto rifle, looks like an AK-47, a Kalashnikov, firing chain lightning. Luke Smith raves about another weapon “Touch of Malice” in the highest terms but doesn’t reveal what exactly it is, only that the journey to get the weapon is fantastic. (Please note: The names of the two weapons are noted phonetically, they might be spelled slightly differently; it’s always tricky with proper names.)
- Xur will still appear every week, “selling a certain amount of exotics” and has the new mechanic allowing players to increase their chances of obtaining exotics from bosses. This item will cost strange coins. That seems quite rewarding.
