In the MMO shooter Destiny today, on May 19th at 7:00 PM, the new DLC “House of Wolves” goes live. We will follow along with a live stream on Twitch and the latest news.
It should be happening soon. “Sometime after 7:00 PM” the hotfix 1.2.0.1 is supposed to come – which will then activate “House of Wolves”.
Destiny Live Stream on Twitch
We at mein MMO would like to accompany such events live. Since there are often many different mini-news, info, and stories coming simultaneously and it affects many areas of the game, a classic news format is hardly suitable for this. Also, such a “live ticker” or in this case a “live” stream also has something of an event feel, and that fits.

6:30 PM: The first hours are likely to be the most exciting. Because about what is happening now, the least is known. House of Wolves is supposed to start with an opening cinematic that briefs players and explains the background. Afterwards, players will likely have to complete the five story missions. And no one knows anything about this part of Destiny so far. This part has not been shown to journalists and YouTubers.
6:35 PM: Don’t be alarmed, we don’t have a stream running yet. But that should be happening soon. 6:40 PM: Well, okay, House of Wolves will probably not start for most with the cinematic or the story quests, but rather with them decrypting engrams in bulk, running to the post office, retrieving packages, decrypting again, which will probably repeat until they exhaustedly fall off their chairs, and then Rahool will give them a line. Destiny, right.
6:45 PM: We are currently trying to find an alternative Destiny stream in German until ProNDC goes live, but it’s not that easy. You don’t want to watch someone munching their roll for 15 minutes while people grunt in strange tongues in the background on Teamspeak. Although while zapping, we noticed that everyone has one of those incredibly cool chairs. We really should hop onto that trend.
6:50 PM: Many assume it will start right at 7:00 PM. But that’s not certain. Bungie has always spoken of “sometime after 7:00 PM”. Nothing about T minus 9.
6:58 PM: The streamer we just briefly involved can’t believe how many viewers he has. Finally, I know what power feels like!
7:00 PM: For context: The biggest US streamer is Golathion, who had around 18,000 viewers during the Reef Reveal, followed by your friend Broman from the Trials Reveal with 6,000. In the German-speaking area, the largest right now has 95. There’s really a market gap, and you get a great chair. There is no schedule for the release yet. As I said: “After” 7:00 PM, not “At” 7:00 PM.
7:07: Oh, okay. It seems to be starting already. There was no big announcement, nothing. But our friends at ProNDC are already secretly in the new Reef. House of Wolves is live.
7:09: Brother Vance will be selling this “Egyptian chest armor” in the first week and the automatic rifle “The Messenger”, we’ve got the stats here on the right.
7:14: Bungie always exaggerates a bit, this is the “Start sequence” for House of Wolves.

New Modifiers for the Weekly Nightfall Strike
7:22: Oh, there are new modifiers for the Nightfall. It is indeed the new strike Shadow-Thief as the weekly Nightfall strike. The modifiers are Arc-Burn, Juggler, and Brawler. Due to Brawler, melee damage of the Guardians is increased. A sort of “Lightswitch” for the good guys. The Nightfall is level 32.
Ghosts, Orbs, Modifiers
7:31: And there are already three new ghost finds in the Reef.
7:40: The 32nd Prison of Elders edition, by the way, includes Hive, Cabal, and Fallen. The 34th edition is the one where DeeJ, Broman, and the Bungie designer failed with Hive/Cabal. The 35th edition is fixed: Each species will have it once and Skolas as Fallen at the end, meaning the Fallen are counted double, so to speak. In the Skolas PoE there is no burn active, just other modifiers, some even harmful to the Guardians like Juggler or Angry.
7:45: And the most important thing – there is a new orb in the Reef shaped like a Servitor! Oh, Destiny – you are so good to us.
7:46: As a reward for the first mission, Guardians receive “Sidearm”, in English known as: Vesta-Dynasty, in German: Vestian Dynasty. It comes in the special slot.
8:13: This is the Reef intro, the cutscene.
Some players cannot access House of Wolves or cannot purchase it
8:17: There are some complaints that House of Wolves is not working for Destiny, even though players have purchased and installed it. And complaints are cropping up that one cannot purchase House of Wolves from the store. For the “not working” issue, logging out or turning off the console may help, as well as restoring licenses if necessary. For the “cannot purchase” problem, we also have no solution at hand.
8:47: By the way, Petra Venj also sells the Vesta-Dynasty. So don’t buy it in excitement – you’ll already get it as a quest reward. That mistake seems to be made by some. And remember that Trials of Osiris starts only on Friday night. So you don’t need to look for it just yet.
8:50: The story seems, at least in the stream, indeed more challenging than in Darkness Awaits, but not really more exciting.
8:55: This Royal Amethyst Crystal is worth 2,500 Glimmer or even 5000 Glimmer, which the Cryptarch exchanges. For those wondering what to do with it. And there are more than 3 story missions.
The story missions lead into the Glass Chamber
9:00: The rumors were true, the fourth story mission actually leads into the old raid: The Glass Chamber.
9:10: The Glass Chamber passage is relatively diverse. Also suitable for playing solo. The mechanics are vaguely similar to the real raid, but it’s easier and significantly shorter. You go against the Fallen and can grab the relic weapon, the Scorch Cannon.
9:25: In the fifth mission, there is also a typical VoG jumping puzzle. And Ghost will be used again, but remains silent.
9:30: Major Spoiler. For those wondering how the boss of House of Wolves Skolas also becomes the boss of the story missions and the main boss of the 35 mode of Prison of Elders: The player locks him up at the end of the story.
9:33: At the end of the story mission, there is a treasure key *wink wink*.
10:37: The Nightfall is quite tough. At least the team of streamers we’re following is already biting the dust. Broman/Deej style. And surprise: Nothing with “Extinguished”. There were rumors that after a wipe one would have to buy another attempt with Light Particles. That hasn’t turned out to be true so far. The community manager already wrote: Don’t Panic.
