In Destiny we look at some legendary hand cannons and show you how to use them best.
Fatebringer, Thorn, The Last Word – everyone knows these exotic hand cannons. These were feared in the Crucible and by the Darkness. For some, that still holds true. Each of the three exotic hand cannons has gained a certain cult status:
- Destiny: Thorn is the new queen in PvP and man, the Guardians hate her …
- Destiny popular PvP weapons: Fatebringer and a sniper rifle that shoots through walls
- Destiny: The cult surrounding “The Last Word” is growing, and now there is a LEGO replica
However, hand cannons in Destiny are not that easy to master. Not every Guardian is the “hand cannon type”. Especially since this weapon category has often faced criticism – not least because of the “Ghost Bullet” problem.
If you want to rely on hand cannons in PvE or PvP, choosing the right perks is crucial. Most hand cannons absolutely need range to be competitive. Below, we take a look at 14 strong legendary hand cannons and provide perk recommendations to maximize their potential.
The Lingering Song
Let’s start with a hand cannon with maximum impact: The Lingering Song. This powerful beast from the Iron Banner can take out other Guardians with two shots and also boasts excellent range. Stability and reload speed are below average, though. Here are the stats:
The Lingering Song is a niche hand cannon that can do something that few other weapons can: Kill an opponent in PvP with two shots. The Judith-D is from the same archetype, but its base stats are inferior to those of the Lingering Song.
An interesting perk combination here is Fitted Stock, Accurized Rounds, and Roulette. This gives you only four rounds in the magazine, but the chance of Roulette activating is high.
In PvE, however, Hammer Forged, Explosive Rounds, or Fireball are recommended.
