In the MMO shooter Destiny, the winter event “The Dawning” has ended. However, you can still do 7 things that the event brought.
Since the last weekly reset, The Dawning is over. This celebration lasted three weeks, where Sparrow races were held, strike points were scored, and the occasional snow angel was made. However, The Dawning did not go unnoticed in the Destiny experience.
7 Dawning Activities That Are Still Available
Participate in Sparrow Races
Even though the SRL is over, you can still participate in Sparrow races. Go to the Crucible, open private matches and select the Sparrow race option. This way, you can race against your friends.
Note: You must first select one of the four Sparrow Racing maps before you can activate the Sparrow race.
Strike Scoring
Strike scoring is a new feature designed to enhance the strikes. You can now hunt for points, complete bounties, and earn medals. The three revamped strikes brought by The Dawning will remain available as well.
The Chance to Get the Icebreaker
You can obtain the Year 3 version of the Icebreaker exclusively through the Dawn bounty from Commander Zavala. Since strike scoring remains, its weekly bounties will still be available. So you can still go after the Icebreaker in the coming weeks.
Free Dawning Treasures
The new mystery packages called “Dawning Treasures” can still be earned by completing one heroic strike per week. This way, you can also complete the festive “The Dawning” armor in the future.
Eververse Items and Silver Dust Store
You can also acquire the Dawning treasures by purchasing them in the Eververse for real money. The Dawning offer remains. You will still find new emotes and sparrows there.
The Silver Dust Store will also remain, where you can purchase weapon ornaments and also now the SRL ornaments.
Complete the “Competitive Spirit” Triumph
If you didn’t manage to complete the new triumph during the three weeks, you can still do it now. The SRL milestones can be achieved in private matches, while the strike scoring milestones can still be attained through strike scoring. The rewards of the book can still be unlocked.
If you own the SRL triumph from 2015 – this can no longer be completed in private matches.
Obtain Nova Mortis and Abbadon
During The Dawning, you could unlock gift tags through the triumph that allowed you to open the three gifts in the Tower. One of those gifts contained a blueprint that started the questline for Nova Mortis and Abbadon. However, these gifts have now been removed.
Nevertheless, you still have a chance to get both exotic machine guns: According to user reports, the required blueprint randomly drops from enemies in PvE activities, provided you haven’t already received it via the gift.
