Today, on August 16th, maintenance works are taking place at Destiny. The servers are offline.
Update 10:15 PM: Bungie is currently investigating the frequently occurring TAPIR error code.
Update 10:10 PM: The account import window now appears during the login process. If you accept it, a small update will be downloaded. Then you can continue playing as usual.
Update 10:05 PM: According to Bungie, the work is finished and all services have been restored. However, reports are accumulating that you still cannot log in. There is also no update available.
Update 9:00 PM: The maintenance works will be extended by one hour. Nothing will be operational before 10 PM. Additionally, Update 2.3.1.2 has been announced. This brings the account import. It is only going live on PS4 and Xbox One. The old consoles will remain on Update 2.3.1.1.
Today, there is a lot happening in Bungie’s MMO shooter: After Destiny: The Collection was officially introduced with a trailer yesterday, tonight marks the kickoff for the livestream at Gamescom, which will include a new, long-awaited feature in PvP. Moreover, starting today, the account import that all Guardians must complete begins.
During the livestream, additionally, several hours of maintenance work will take place.
After the Downtime, the Iron Banner Starts in August
From 6 PM our time, you will no longer be able to log into Destiny. Preparations for the maintenance will begin.
At 7 PM, all players will be removed from their activities. The servers will go offline.
Bungie expects that the work will be finished around 9 PM.
All platforms are affected by this downtime, including PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. What changes will be made is not specified.
One thing is certain: Once the servers are back online, the Iron Banner in August will start – likely the last monthly PvP event before “Rise of Iron”. After the autumn expansion, the Iron Banner will undergo some changes.
