In Destiny there is a small debate. Should you take down Raid boss Aksis with a sword or rather pull out special rocket launchers?
While others were looking for Easter eggs or wondering how exactly to carve the Easter roast, there was an interesting discussion in the main Destiny forum on reddit.
A user says “This rocket launcher is better than anything else,” but hardly anyone believes him
Five days ago, a user wrote in a post: This week, the Future War Cult is selling the rocket launcher “The Warpath” with the perks Cluster Bombs, Field Scout, and Tripod. A friend of his had fought against Raid boss Aksis with a similar rocket launcher and dealt more damage than anyone else.
He knows that everyone is skeptical, but it should be tried.
According to his theory, the impact hits all of Aksis’s legs and his body. The cluster bombs then deal their damage to the legs. Therefore, such a rocket launcher is the best weapon in this scenario.
Until then, the community believes that the exotic sword “Dark Drinker” is the best weapon against Aksis. But the user said now: No, it is this rocket launcher.
Hardly anyone was interested in this post. And the user himself couldn’t provide any evidence that the theory is correct for three days.
With a 3-day delay, this theory becomes popular
The interesting thing was that last week a rocket launcher with exactly these perks was available – vendor rolls change weekly. Moreover, Aksis has a special challenge in the coming week where every DPS point counts. There was already an incentive to try out this theory.
Therefore, the theory was really tested.
Another Reddit user then made a video and a new thread and said: Indeed! The guy is right. The rocket launcher really does more damage to Aksis than Dark Drinker. He proved it with a video.
The video of the player who tested the theory was also seen by relatively few people. But the thread on reddit attracted many more readers. Thus, larger YouTubers like Kackishd used these insights and dealt with the topic themselves.
Suddenly, videos on the topic “rocket launcher against Aksis” had 50,000 views and the theory was established.
Countermovement says: For God’s sake, use the sword again
Since then, a real hysteria has broken out over “rocket launchers against Aksis.” This week, there is again a rocket launcher available at the Dead Orbit with special perks the rocket launcher “Dust to Dust.”
However, there is already a “countermovement.” In the last 24 hours, the most important post on reddit was “For the love of all that is holy, please just use Dark Drinker again.”
The thread creator writes that he was out all morning while random groups tried to jump on the “hype train” and take down Aksis with the rocket launcher. Since most are not used to handling rocket launchers, chaos ensues. The tries are uncoordinated and quite horrible. Therefore, everyone should go back and take down Aksis with the Dark Drinker.
Furthermore, the thread creator misses the “Spin to win” feeling. Kills with Dark Drinker just have more style.
Almost a Jesus theory
