In Destiny, fans staged a rap battle between DeeJ and the community. It is well received by the Guardians – and DeeJ has already responded to it.
The life of a community manager is not always easy: Often he gets the full brunt of the pent-up frustration from the community. He is supposed to keep a cool head, address the concerns of the fans, and mediate between the parties as best as possible.
Now, creative Guardians have created a rap battle that portrays the communication between the community and Bungie’s community manager DeeJ in an exaggerated manner.
Rap Battle between DeeJ and the Community
The YouTube channel Leon Young has published the video of this Destiny rap battle. It is noted that this is, of course, just for fun and that people should not take it too seriously.
The battle takes place in English, but the “hard lines” that are delivered can be read along in the image:
The first question “from the community” relates to where the rest of the game is. The last update hardly brought any new features, and players have to keep playing the same strikes. Bungie is accused of lying to the community.
This statement is dismissed by “DeeJ” as a joke and refers to the numbers: The Guardians paid about 60 US dollars for a game in which they spent over 1000 hours of gameplay. Thus, they only paid 6 cents per hour, their possibly best investment so far.
The next problem from the community: The PvP is broken, the lag is unbearable. The “Weasel” error code shows up too often.
The fake DeeJ responds by saying that they listen to the feedback from the players. Thousands of hate messages reach him daily, along the lines of: “That’s it! I’m done with the game.” However, players only say that until they realize that The Division is ******. And then the players will come crawling back.
In the end, this DeeJ drops the line: “I am ‘The DeeJ,’ and if you don’t respect me, I will hit you with the complete zoo of the ‘Disconnect Screens'” – an amusing reference to the fact that the error messages in Destiny all have animal names.
The “real” reaction from DeeJ
The “real” DeeJ has already reacted via Twitter to this rap battle. He shares that he has seen the video and finds it “hilarious.” However, he would never want to speak to us in this tone.
What do you think about this rap battle?
