In Destiny , we take a closer look at the ViDoc “The Dawning of the Iron Lords” at Gamescom 2016.
On Tuesday evening, Bungie lifted the veil: Private Matches are now officially confirmed and will be introduced to Destiny this fall. A livestream was held at Gamescom 2016 for this purpose. Before the developers discussed this exciting PvP feature, a ViDoc about the upcoming expansion, summarizing the important innovations, was shown. And already here, the words were almost casually stated within seconds: “We have private matchmaking.”
However, this ViDoc can also provide numerous other pieces of information and things that we have not seen yet. For example, we get to see the new Strike “The Wretched Eye” , which we have already introduced in detail, but also new armor pieces, new weapons, and even gameplay scenes from the new raid “Wrath of the Machine.”
The YouTuber Arekkz Gaming summarizes all the information from the video. Although one can’t really call it a summary, as it lasts longer than the actual ViDoc. The entire new stuff is presented in detail:
The new Osiris, Raid, Iron Banner, and “Iron Lord” armor
With “Rise of Iron,” you can collect some new gear sets, which are showcased in the ViDoc.
This is the new Osiris armor:
The “Iron Lord” armor:
The new Iron Banner armor:
The “SIVA armor,” the raid armor:
With ornaments, you can customize this gear. For example, the flames that have already been seen in some images are the result of ornaments. You can activate and deactivate them at will:
You can change the Osiris armor with ornaments (see also the title image):
The raid armor also glows:
New and familiar weapons in a fresh look
With ornaments, you can also give the weapons a different style. The video showcased some look changes. But first, let’s look at the brand new toys.
This is probably a raid pulse rifle:
Here is a new weapon from Häkke in the SIVA style:
And a new weapon from Osiris:
A completely new machine gun, which comes in both red and black versions. Nemesis Star:
Here are several new pistols:
The Monte Carlo comes with a black-red paint job – thanks to ornaments:
For the Hawkmoon, two ornaments are visible. One is a bloody version, and the other is an elegant version in black-gold: More images, specifically of the armor pieces, can be seen in the embedded video above.
In the ViDoc, scenes were also shown from the raid, like more of this big machine:
Additionally, scenes from cutscenes can be seen, like this one:What do you think of these items?
We accompanied the stream live and embedded the ViDoc “Rise of Iron” here.
