In Destiny, the 390 light level version of the King’s Fall raid is live! Information on the raid challenges with the War Priest, Golgoroth, and Oryx in Year 3.
Since April 11, 2017, the Oryx raid has a new endgame-level version: From now on, you can earn loot up to light level 400.
While the Vault of Glass and Crota’s End received new raid challenges, the previous challenges from King’s Fall have been carried over to Year 3 for the 390 version. Every four weeks, all three challenges (War Priest, Golgoroth, Oryx) are active simultaneously. By successfully completing a challenge, you earn raid ornaments and an exotic adept weapon each time. These now come with elemental damage:
- Auto rifle: Anguish of Drystan (Arc)
- Hand cannon: Curse of Zaouli (Void)
- Pulse rifle: Anguish of Merain (Solar)
- Scout rifle: Corruption of Chelchis (Void)
Challenges with the War Priest, Golgoroth, and Oryx
The first Guardians have already completed the 390 version and can confirm: There are no changes to the mechanics in the challenges. If you have already defeated the bosses in Year 2 countless times, you should have no problem with the procedures in Year 3.
With the War Priest, a different Guardian must carry the “Aura” each time, which is called the “Mark of the Initiate.” Here is an old video guide on it:
For Golgoroth, the gaze bearer must switch each round, so that all 6 Guardians take care of the gaze once. Here is a video about it:
In the Oryx Challenge, you must detonate all 16 bombs at the same time. Here is a video about it:
With the Age of Triumph, a new feature was introduced for the challenge modes of the Vault of Glass and Crota’s End, where a notification appears when the challenge fails. This way, Guardians immediately know whether to wipe or if they should finish the encounter: “Maybe the run is still valid!” However, as Community Manager Cozmo stated, this notification is only available for the two old raids. In King’s Fall and Wrath of the Machine, it is still missing.
Here’s how you can get the Touch of Malice!
