In the MMO shooter Destiny , a new Iron Banner has been active since August 25th. Here are the rewards.
This came as a surprise and without announcement. Since yesterday, August 25th at 7:00 PM, the Iron Banner has been active. We summarize the rewards.
What is the Iron Banner?
The Iron Banner is a PvP event that lasts for a week during which players can earn “Etheric Light”. These are the items required to max out legendary gear and armor to Light Level 42 or Attack Level 365.
The Iron Banner ends on September 1st at 11:00 AM.
Why was this a Surprise?
There is a glitch that has been well known for a long time. Players exploit it to obtain items without playing the Iron Banner. The glitch works only if you have a character that was active in the last Iron Banner and is preparing for the arrival of Saladin. Perhaps this was withheld to prevent this glitching. No one knows.
What Rewards are Available this Month?
- At Reputation Level 1: The emblem Seal of the Iron Lord
- At Reputation Level 2: The shader Millions of Millions
- At Reputation Level 3: The emblem Scar of Radagast and boots with Light-36 for the three classes. There are two versions to choose from for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. The first version has 76 Int and 74 Disc, increasing ammo for auto rifles. The second version has 68 Int and 74 Disc, increasing ammo for scout rifles. Additionally, an Etheric Light can be purchased.
- At Reputation Level 4: The class item, and then there is Light-36 helmet armor, with 2 each for the individual classes. The first version has 63 Int and 56 Str. The second has 56 Dis and 61 Str. Both helmet versions have various perks. Additionally, at Reputation Level 4, the first weapon is available. This is the shotgun Felwinter’s Lie with sardine can and knee pads. - At Reputation Level 5, there is the auto rifle Silimar’s Wrath, the shader Gold Spiral, and a second Etheric Light.
Is the Iron Banner Worth it this Month?
Actually not. The Taken King is just around the corner. There will be an item hard reset. How to prepare for it can be read in our preparation guide for September 15th.
The only things worth getting are now the emblem and shader that one might still want to have. Bungie has already announced that they want to bring new ones with “The Taken King”. Or you can just do it for fun. An old-fashioned concept, but …
