The Dreaming City, Riven, and the Last Wish
Since we are already on Forsaken, let’s look at its contents. If you had to name one of the most beautiful places in Destiny, it would be the Dreaming City. A magical place where the Awoken live. The story surrounding the Ahamkara, their wishes, and the curse that has tightly griped the Dreaming City enchanted many fans.
The “Forsaken” expansion had a “The Taken King” launch. All expansions before were semi or not good at all, and the theme surrounding the Awoken was supposed to turn the tide – with success.
Many new exotics to chase, a beautiful story, a complex raid with varied mechanics, secrets on patrols, and much more kept the Guardians entertained.
The Love-Hate Relationship with Gambit
Let’s see what’s coming, the Drifter is on the horizon! Gambit was both a curse and a blessing after the release of Forsaken. The first PvEvP activity managed to attract many Guardians at the start. The mode was fun, offered variety, and many cool weapons to chase – not to mention the countless armors.
It was fun, but in the season of the Drifter, Guardians could do nothing else for months on end. The fun quickly turned into frustration as Guardians eventually played so much Gambit that they can’t bear to see it today.
However, it must be said that this experiment by Bungie was successful. They dared to create a new mode without knowing if it would resonate with Guardians who liked it. Even today, there are still passionate Gambit players who deposit their particles to summon an Atheon. Are you one of them?
